If you’re like most gamers, you probably enjoy playing games with someone else rather than playing them solo. Online co-op certainly makes every game much more enjoyable. Plus, you won’t have to face the challenges and monsters all by yourself.
Risk of Rain 2 supports up to 4 players in co-op, where one player has to host the game while up to three other players can join the host. Whether you want to be a host or a guest, check out our Risk of Rain 2 guide, in which we’ll reveal how you can play online co-op with either random players or your friends.
How To Play Online Co-op – Risk of Rain 2
Before we move on, it’s worth mentioning that Risk of Rain 2 is not a cross-platform game, which means that your friends will be able to play with you, but only if everyone plays on the same platform, whether it’s PC or console.
So, if you and your friends (or random people you may find online) play on the same platform, this is what you’ll need to do.
Once you enter the game, click on the Multiplayer option.
Next, you’ll have various options, but you should focus on these two: Create Multiplayer Game and Join Multiplayer Game.
Suppose you want to create one, simply click on that option, and you’ll get to this screen.
You’ll now have to set your lobby’s visibility to private or public, depending on whether you want to play with your friends or random players. You can also name your lobby, set a password, allow rule voting, and enter custom tags.
Once you’re ready and other players join the lobby, click on the button, and you’re good to go!
