Gathering resources in survival games is probably the bulk of most games in the genre. You go around punching trees, strip mining the earth and wiping out wildlife for that loot. Then we build a mansion the size of a small country and forget that it’s a survival game. That’s basically what all survival games with base building is.
In Smalland there’s a lot of resource gathering that you’ll need to do. Not only to build a good looking base but to progress through the game. In this guide we’ll show you where to find Clay in the game for those who need it for crafting or building!
How To Get Clay In Smalland: Survive The Wilds
There’s a lot of resources in Smalland and when you’re just starting out some of these resources are tough to find. Not to mention that some resources need a certain tier or tools to even let you gather it. Before you go start looking for clay you’ll need at least a Spike Pickaxe, which is made out of iron.
Once you get yourself a Spike Pickaxe you’ll need to go to the bottom right part of the map. There you can find all sorts of resources but what we want is clay. You can find clay scattered around that area on walls and on the ground. They look like lumps or mounds of dirt so it might be tough to see them from afar.
Once you find one you can then whack it with your Spike Pickaxe, and it should drop some clay! Clay is the material that will unlock stone buildings for you so make sure to get a lot of it!
