Sons of the Forest has come out with a new patch which has added some additional content to the game. This gives players an excuse to explore through the various caves and locations so that they can go through the horrifying experiences all over again.
In this guide, we will be showing you the location of a new crafting recipe, which is the Cross Light. Additionally, we will also show you how you can craft it for yourself and the advantages that it offers you. Let’s dive in and check out this unique item that you can add to your base!
New Crafting Recipe Location – Cross Light
Start by reaching Cave A, which is also known as the Rebreather Cave. This is the same cave where you can find the Rebreather. Check out this guide which shows the location of the Rebreather Cave and Rebreather inside.
It is likely that you will have explored this cave thoroughly before. However, the new Patch 12 has added a new item to it, so it is worth a visit again. Once you’ve mustered up the courage, stand in front of the entrance to the cave.
Enter the small gap into the cave and turn on the Cavelight. The caves are incredibly dark and having the light on will make it much easier for you to navigate to the new crafting recipe.
Keep following the path ahead as there is really only one way that you can in the start. While you’re walking in the caves, you will stumble upon many cannibals. It is up to you if you want to fight them or just avoid them and run past them.
Eventually, you will reach a fork where you can continue on the path to the left or a small cave to the right. Choose the small cave on the right. You can identify this small cave with the skulls and wooden crosses hanging from above the entrance.
Enter the cave and make your way ahead through the cramped pathway. You will stumble upon some hanging skeletons and loot, alongside some cannibals that are roaming the area. Keep going ahead until you arrive at another fork, where you can take two paths again.
You can identify this fork by the dead body that is sitting in the middle, covered in blood. Take the left path. It will be very cramped at the start, so you may need to jump over some rocks to enter it. Go up ahead a bit until you arrive at a fence between two rocks near some hanging crosses.
Break this fence and walk through the new opening. You will see that there is a narrow gap ahead between two wooden planks that goes downwards.
Entering this gap will allow you to go down via a rope. Do exactly this and make your way down the deep abyss.
When you reach down, you will see that there are some boxes that you can break for some loot. There will also be a narrow path that you can follow ahead. Eventually, you will arrive at yet another fork that is marked by a hanging skeleton, where you can take two paths.
Take the path on the left and you will see there is a small gap you can enter by crouching. This gap also has a hanging cross above it and you can crouch inside and enter it.
When you come out on the other side, you will find yourself in a chamber with many hanging skeletons.
On the ground below them, a bit in the left corner, you will see a Note on the floor. Pick up this Note and you will see that it is a new Crafting Recipe for the Cross Light.
The Cross Light requires the following materials:
- Light Bulbs x9
- Wire x2
- Half Plank x1
- Plank x1.
The Cross Light can be a great addition for your base as the bright light it shines will keep enemies away from coming towards you. It also adds a nice aesthetic to your base and makes it look very daunting. You will feel safe knowing that enemies won’t suddenly attack you.
That’s where you can find the crafting recipe location for the Cross Light. Interestingly, this crafting recipe can be found in the same location where you could find the ??? Item in Patch 11.
