There’s a new free to play game out there that some STALKER fans might want to check out and it’s a game called Stalcraft. The game features a nice mix of STALKER and Minecraft, thus the name, and it captures the atmosphere of the game very well! The game is an MMO filled with mutants, anomalies and artifacts as well as the usual STALKERs and Bandits shooting each other. The game has a heavy element of PVP and you’re likely to find other players of the opposite team at the starting map. Speaking of maps, let’s check out what this game has to offer in terms of interesting locales!

All Locations The Surface Of The Zona In Stalcraft

If you’re a long time STALKER fan playing the original games or the new modpacks like Escape from Pripyat or GAMMA then you know what the whole map looks like. The maps of the original game and Stalcraft are quite similar and some are even named the same, although others can have different names like the Garbage being called The Dump. Let’s go check what are the different areas of the game.

The Swamps

Fans of STALKER Clear Sky might hear this and have flashbacks but don’t worry since this place is a tad bit more friendly. The swamps is the starting zone for all players, Bandit or STALKER. The Stalker camp is at the south while the bandit camp is at the north and in-between them are missions, resources and quests. This is where all the usual firsts are, from first quests to first PVP and you’ll quickly learn how to traverse this watery map with ease.

Early-Mid Game Areas

Cordon and The Dump in the middle, Agroprom to the left and the Dark Velley to the right. When you go through the main quests you’ll get to go to Cordon, there you can find the bandit base to the northwest and the STALKER base to the northeast. The Cordon and The Dump is where the main quests are while Agroprom is usually Bandit territory and Dark Valley is STALKER territory, which is completely switched from the original STALKER games.

This is also the place where you’ll start finding the next tier of items needed to buy gear in the areas, like Seeds or Aluminum cables as well as the faction known as the Orderlies.

Mid-Game Areas

Further up the map and you’ll reach tougher territories and better rewards. The Pit and The Forest are where you’ll first encounter Boss Dens comprised of human bosses that are tough to kill but reward you with great loot.

The areas in this section of the map is also where you’ll start to find the other mutant types like Bloodsuckers and Zombies as well as even harder quests, higher tier loot and so on.

End-Game Areas

The northern most part of the map and the most dangerous areas that even the game tells you they’re dangerous. These places are filled with all sorts of mutants as well as mutant bosses which are tougher versions of mutants. That’s not the only thing you need to worry about because there’s also Monolith Squads here, fanatical zealots of the zone and are ready the turn you into Swiss cheese! With great risks comes great rewards though, and nothing ventured nothing gained. This is your end game STALKER and you’ll have to fight for it!

Congratulations you now know more about the different areas of the Zone in Stalcraft, fans of the original games might find a lot of areas that look familiar and the devs really tried to make it that way. They also add their own little twists around it and it really feels like one of those large overhaul mods that STALKER usually gets. Now go out there and explore the zone!
