Starfield is the first original intellectual property that Bethesda has worked on in over 25 years. This game combines the RPG elements from the Fallout series with the exploration from No Man’s Sky to create a universe never seen before.
Many new players might have accidentally engaged in fights in a particular system that led to them ending up with bounties. This guide will focus on how to clear these bounties to avoid getting arrested in the said system.
How to Clear Bounty
Checking and Clearing Bounty
The first step is to view your Bounty in the particular star system. For this, simply open the map menu and hover over a star system. If you have a Bounty that is active, it should show up in the top right corner of the screen. This is shown in the image below, where we have an active bounty of 50 Credits.
To clear this bounty, you will need to head to a star system where you do not have a bounty active. In our case, the Narion star system.
Hover over your desired system and expand it to view the possible locations that you can visit. Inside the system, you need to look for the largest City or Space Station.
Docking on Station
Once you have decided on the location, you will need to dock on it to proceed to the required terminal. For this, you will need to open your Scanner while heading towards the location.
Then, after you’re in range, use the Hail option to inform the faction of your arrival. As you get closer, you will get the option of docking on the station.
Now that you’re docked at the station, you can board it and look for the Bounty Terminal.
Using Settlement
In some cases, it might be possible that the space station did not have the terminal that you were looking for. In this case, you can head for a settlement that is closest to your location. Bigger settlements are usually the best locations since they are more likely to have terminals.
The Self-Service Bounty Terminal should be visible to you in such locations as shown in the image above. Simply interact with the terminal, and it will show you your active bounties in other star systems.
By using a small fee, you can clear that bounty and be a free individual once again. This fee is usually slightly higher that the amount of bounty itself.
