When you play a game like Starfield, you get the idea that the story will eventually throw an unsolvable issue your way, and you’d be right once you get to meet the local workers of Cydonia. Don’t worry you’re not going to deal with an uprising. In fact, you might even prevent it by lending a helping hand.

By doing the Red Tape Blues quest, you’re going to make sure that work actually gets done in the mining colony. Is it illegal? Probably, but you’re in space! You can do just about anything as long as you don’t get caught. Read the rest of the guide if you want to get this simple quest over with.

Red Tape Blues Guide

To begin the quest, you’re going to have to head over to the mining colony of Cydonia. You can find the colony on Mars. The planet hasn’t moved out of orbit so you can still find it in the Sol system.

Once you’re in the colony, look for Trevor Petyarre. He’ll be in the lower levels of Cydonia’s Central Hub. Here’s what you’ll be doing for this quest:

  • Gather ores to help the mining team meet their quota
  • Head to the Deimos Staryards Office
  • Apply for an Executive Assistant position
  • Delete the other candidate’s applications
  • Get hired as Peter’s assistant

Detailed Walkthrough

Exchange a few words with Trevor, maybe even tell him that you used to do mining work for Argos. He’ll ask for your help after he lets you in on the working conditions he puts up with. The next thing you need to do is gather iron ore. You need at least ten before you talking to Trevor again.

There’s iron ore everywhere behind him. Just don’t point your cutter towards the other workers while you’re helping out. The iron ore will be highlighted in blue once you get close enough, making them easy to spot. Drop all of them in the bin in front of Trevor when you’re done.

Now that Trevor trusts you, it’s time to move up the corporate ladder. Head to the Deimos Staryards office next to apply for a job. It’s right outside of the colony. Once you’re fully docked, follow the blue marker on your map to the nearest sales computer.

Choose the job posting for the executive assistant position and submit yourself to a five-hour personality test. We trust that you would know how to lie while filling up a job application for an important position.

Feel free to oversell yourself while using the sales computer! Answer the rest of the questions how you see fit since they won’t affect the outcome of the quest.

Go back to Cydonia and speak to Trevor. Tell him that you filled out the application form and he’ll have you go to the office on the main level next.

The HR director, Tia, along with the other women in the office go to the Broken Spear at 5pm every evening. That’s where you come in and delete everyone else’s job applications.

To get to the director’s office, go all the way up the stairs. Tia’s computer is the one that’s right next to the window. Make sure you’re sneaking so you’re crimes go unnoticed.

Open the computer and choose Job Applications. There’s an option at the very bottom that lets you delete all other candidate applications. Do that and head back down to speak to Trevor again. All you have to do later is access Peter’s terminal and approve Trevor’s request.

TAGGED:
Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
