In The Front, you might be wondering how to get Followers in the game. It might be taking you a while to figure this out, so I want to save you some time. In this guide, I will be showing you how to get them and the strategies that make gaining followers easy. Let’s take a look!
How To Get Followers
One important thing to note is that you can’t recruit followers during Home Invasions. So, once you’ve built the Space Beacon, you can use it to initiate invasions where your base is attacked, but you can’t recruit followers during those events.
To recruit followers, you need to find basic enemy camps. First, you’ll have to build the Simple Jammer device.
Head to your Tech tree and look for it at the bottom under “Tech.” You’ll need at least 8 to 10 Simple Jammers, but don’t carry more than 12 just to be safe.
You need to create a simple jammer device. So go to the Tech tree and then go down to Tech, and right down you will see the simple jammer and the materials needed.
Now, head to any nearby enemy camp where you’ll find enemies wandering around. Use your weapon to injure them slightly, and an icon that looks like a broken chain will appear above their head.
Make sure your weapon is reloaded before you shoot to ensure you don’t miss your chance.
Once they’re injured, throw the Simple Jammer at them.
When they’re down, interact with them and navigate to their Favorite Food tab., as you can see in the photo below.
Make sure to fill their inventory with their favorite food. The amount you need depends on the enemy’s level; higher-level enemies will require more.
Keep in mind that early on, you can only have one follower with you, so don’t try to recruit too many at once.
When you look at the enemy, you’ll see two important bars: the Chaos Bar and the Obedience Bar.
The Chaos Bar drops over time, indicating how much time is left before they get back up. If it reaches zero, you may lose the opportunity to recruit them.
The Obedience Bar goes up each time they eat their favorite food. It’s essential to use their favorite food because it won’t work with regular food.
If their Obedience Bar runs out because they have no food, you can go elsewhere and come back, but you don’t have much time. If the Chaos Bar gets too low, use another Simple Jammer to stun them and reset it.
You need to ensure that their Obedience Bar reaches 100%. It’s a slow process. Once they’ve finally succumbed, hold the interaction button and select the “Subdue” option. They will become your follower, and you can take them back to your base.
Once they’re at your base, you can remove all the items from their inventory and assign them to your crafting stations. Keep in mind that they might have skills that make them more useful.
