If you’ve already clawed your way through the Highway and beaten Hiragana of the 1st Ring, congrats—you’re officially in Ring 2 of Hell in TYPE://SOUL. But don’t get comfortable. The deeper you go, the more brutal the fights, and Ring 2 is where a lot of players hit their first real wall. In this guide, I’ll walk you through everything you need to progress past Hell Layer 2, defeat both bosses, and reach Ring 3. I’ll share my personal experience, mistakes, and tips to help you make it through without losing your mind (or your slot). Let’s get into it.
Hell Guide Layer 2 Quest Location & How To Progress
After defeating the Sternritter boss “Hiragana of the 1st Ring” in Ring 1, you’re teleported into Ring 2—a massive, eerie space that initially seems kind of empty. But don’t let the calm fool you.
Ring 2 houses two major fights:
- The Owl Boss, a tanky, slow-moving enemy that hits like a truck
- A second Quincy boss with the Miracle Schrift / Vollständig
Both are required to clear Ring 2 and reach the next layer. But before the boss battles, you’ll need to traverse some platforming sections, find key NPCs, and collect Book Fragment 3.
Here’s how to survive it all.

Step 1: The Owl Boss Fight
Once you arrive in Ring 2, you’ll cross a long bridge that eventually leads you to the Owl. This massive bird is known as the “All-Knowing Owl,” and while it deals insane damage, its attacks are slow and readable.
Tips for Beating the Owl
- Keep your distance: Ranged attacks are safest
- Dodge and block: Most of its swings are telegraphed
- Bring friends: Soloing it is doable, but painful
- Be patient: It has a huge health pool
📦 Reward: Defeating the Owl grants Book Fragment 3, which you’ll need for the Soul Weaver storyline later.

Step 2: The Obby & Finding NPC “2”
After beating the Owl, you’ll reach a jumping puzzle (obby) filled with holes, it’s linear though so just keep going until you reach the end. Take your time—falling is fine here since you’ll respawn and can retry.
Your goal is to reach the NPC named “2”. Press comma ( , ) on your keyboard to make their name visible. Once you make it to “2”, prepare yourself—the second boss fight is about to begin.

Step 3: Boss Fight – Hiragana 2 (Quincy Boss)
Hiragana 2 is tougher than the Owl but slightly more manageable than the Ring 1 boss. He uses the Miracle Schrift, has two phases, and can be a menace if you’re underprepared.
How We Beat Him
I grouped up with two randoms who turned out to be cracked—big shoutout to them. With good synergy and well-timed M1s, we managed to whittle him down. His second phase wasn’t too wild, but his damage output is serious.
Important: Post-Fight Platforming
After the fight, you’ll enter another obby section—but this time, falling sends you back to the boss fight. Seriously.
PAY ATTENTION TO GAPS.
Take it slow and make each jump count. At the end of the platforming section, you’ll find an NPC named Blair.
Step 4: Talk to Blair & Unlock True Form Access
Talking to Blair once gives you a breather. Talking to her a second time opens the Senkaimon—a portal that leads to Ring 3.
- ✅ Each player must enter the portal individually
- 🚫 It does not teleport the whole server
Oh, and if you’ve made it this far: congrats. You’ve earned access to your True Bankai / Segunda / Vollständig—the beginning of your true endgame power.
Wrap-Up: Ring 2 Is Pain, But Progress
Hell Layer 2 isn’t just a difficulty spike—it’s a mental test. Between the tanky Owl, a platforming gauntlet, and another hard-hitting Quincy, it’s easy to feel stuck here.
But with patience, solid teamwork, and a careful approach, you’ll make it out—and into Ring 3, where even crazier stuff awaits.
