Dune Awakening features various factions that fans will be aware of from the Dune Universe. These factions are central to the game’s design – as they offer all sorts of missions, skill unlocks and more. This includes the trainers that can help you learn different skills. Learning these skills is crucial if you plan on surviving the desert, especially when facing off against other players. So, in this guide, we’ll show you the locations of all basic and advanced trainers – so you can learn these skills. Without further delay, let’s dive in!
Unlock All Classes & ADVANCED Trainer Locations
When you start Dune Awakening for the first time, you’re required to pick one class which dictates your starting skills, abilities and how you’ll interact with the world. These classes are: Swordmaster, Mentat, Bene Gesserit, Trooper and Planetologist.
However, you can still learn the skills of other classes via NPC trainers found all around the world of Dune Awakening. These include both basic trainers and advanced trainers so that you can advance your skill tree as fast as possible.
Keep in mind that you will need to complete contracts for each trainers before they’re willing to teach you skills!
Basic Trainer Locations
There are 5 basic trainers that can be found in Dune Awakening.
Basic Trainer Location #1 – Trooper
Starting off, you’ll be heading to Griffin’s Reach Tradepost, which can be found in Hagga Basin South. It is the first real taste of civilization that you get in Dune Awakening.

Once you arrive here, enter the building and go to the left. Here, you’ll find an NPC by the name of Ghavouri. Select the option to learn from him, and he will teach you in exchange for completing a quest called Proving Grounds.
Check out our trooper quest guide so you know how to complete the contract! Complete his quest and you’ll be able to unlock the Trooper basic skills.

Basic Trainer Location #2 – Planetologist
For the next trainer, you’ll want to head to Chinara’s Camp, also found in Hagga Basin South. You can find it in a cave just above the testing station marked on the map.

Over here, you’ll find an NPC called Derek Shinara. Talk to him and he will teach you the skills in exchange for completing the Minimic Film Recovery quest.
If you’re struggling to complete this quest or can’t find the necessary locations, you can check out our planetologist trainer quest guide!
Keep in mind that once you complete the planetologist’s first contract, he’ll start changing his positions. You’ll start to find him at different testing stations as you get to them in order – where you’ll be able to complete further contracts from him.
This is important because it’ll make finding him a bit difficult for the advanced trainer, which we’ll get to later in the guide.

Basic Trainer Location #3 – Mentat
Next, we’ll be going to Riftwatch located in the Hagga Rift.

Just outside this area, you’ll find the basic Mentat trainer, called Samin Moro. Complete the First Blood quest, which is just a basic fetch quest for her and she’ll help you unlock the Mentat skill tree.

Basic Trainer Location #4 – Bene Gesserit
After that, you’ll be heading to the Helius Gate which can be found on the corner of the Eastern Shield Wall. This is an Atreides base.

Over here, you can find the Bene Gesserit trainer, known as Sister Mesa. Simply talk to her and she’ll give you The Missing Pieces quest. Complete it and you’ll be able to unlock the Bene Gesserit skill tree.

Basic Trainer Location #5 – Swordmaster
For the final basic trainer, you’ll be going to the Pinnacle Station, located just on the edge of Jabal Eifrit Al-gharb. This is the longest of the trainers to get at the start.

When you arrive here, which is at the top of the map, you’ll find a station. Enter inside and you’ll find Arno who’ll teach you the Swordmaster skill tree in exchange for completing the Checking The Post quest.
With that, you now know how to obtain all the basic skills in Dune Awakening, allowing you to get your skill trees started.

Advanced Trainer Locations
There are 5 advanced trainers as well that will help you further progress the skill trees we just unlocked. However, to get to most of them, you will need to have unlocked the Harko Village and Arrakeen.
For a detailed guide on how you can do that, check out our how to get to harko village and arrakeen guide.
In essence, what you need to do is head to any of the main quest hubs you can find in different areas of Arrakis. The most familiar one will be The Anvil, located in the Eastern Vermillius Gap.
Whichever one is the nearest to you, make your way there.

Here, you should find an NPC near the corner of the entrance called the Ornithopter Pilot.

Talk to the pilot and select the I want you to fly me somewhere option. Doing so will give you the option to fast travel to Harko Village or Arrakeen. Keep in mind that each trip will cost you 2500 Solaris.
This is quite expensive at the start, so you can try to gather money by completing contracts. As ypu progress through the game, you’ll eventually have enough money to get here and further unlock more skills.
You can also get here by flying which saves you money – but you’ll unlock flying much later. If you’re interested in advancing your skills earlier, you’ll want to go the fast travel route.
Now, let’s see where you can find the advanced trainers in these social hubs.

Advanced Trainer Location #1 – Bene Gesserit
Starting off, we’ll be heading to the Harko Village. You’ll want to go to the second floor, near the Weapons Merchant icon.

Over here, you’ll find an NPC called Jocasta Cleo just past the Baron’s Eye. Talk to her so that you can get to the advanced Bene Gesserit skill tree.

Advanced Trainer Location #2 – Swordmaster
The next advanced trainer is also located in Harko Village, all the way to the north in an alleyway. Unfortunately, we were not able to scroll up on the map due to a bug. However, Harko Village is fairly small.
So, just go all the way up and you will be able to find him.

You’re looking for Seron Varlin with a blindfold on his eyes. He is the advanced Sword Master who will help you to further train the skill tree.

Advanced Trainer Location #3 – Mentat
Next, we’ll be going to the Arrakeen, which is the other social hub you can visit. Here, you want to make your way all the way to the back of the Salusan Bull bar located on the ground floor. You’ll be able to see the bar icon there too, which will make it easy to navigate.

Here, you’ll find an NPC called Zayn De Witte, who will give you the Calculated Calamity quest. After you complete it, you will get advanced Mentat training from him.

Advanced Trainer Location #4 – Trooper
The next trainer can also be found on Arrakeen, this time on the second floor.

Go towards the middle of the map and you’ll find Kara Valk. Talk to her and you’ll get the Seeking Control contract from her. Complete it and you’ll be get advanced trooper training from her.

Advanced Trainer Location #5 – Planetologist
The advanced Planetologist in an altogether different story, as he has no fixed location. He can be found at different testing stations throughout Arrakis, depending on how many contracts you’ve completed for him.
Below is a map which shows the different locations you can find him at – depending on which contract you did for him. This will be the same trainer who taught you the basic skill tree – Derek Chinara.
Credit goes to Fengrush on AlcastHQ for creating a handy map where you can find him.
Check out their planetologist guide so you can get more details about each of these contract locations.

That’s everything you need to know about unlocking all the classes in Dune Awakening. Now that you know all the trainer locations, you’ll be able to get the skills as soon as possible. The Planetologist is the only annoying one to find – since he moves around so much. Hopefully, you’ll be able to catch him soon!
