Wayfinder: Everything You Need To Know About Echoes

A quick guide on how Echoes work in Wayfinder.

Wayfinder is another MMORPG that lets you take control of stylish yet powerful warriors that can decimate a group of enemies with their powerful attacks. While still in Beta, players who are actually participating in the Beta have come away feeling positive. Sure, it’s a little rough around the edges, but the Beta is a way for the developers to improve the game for when it releases to the public. While we’re waiting for that day, here’s a guide on how the Echoes system works in Wayfinder.

How do Echoes Work

Echoes are essentially a way for you to upgrade your characters. Whether it’s weapons or the character itself, Echoes are there to help you become stronger. You can get Echoes by basically defeating enemies and collecting their Echoes that you can put in the slot of your character and gear. Each Echo will have random stats and bonus effects that will change the way you play the game.

There are 5 types of Echoes: Ave, Bri, Cro, Dom, Eir (essentially A, B, C, D, and E). Type A through D are mostly for boosting a characters stat like Weapon Power or Resistance, while E give you special effects that help you in battle when the conditions are met, similar to how perks work.

Echoes also come in different rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic. Each rarity will have a max rank that it can reach. Common can only go up to 4, 6 for Uncommon, 8 for Rare, and 10 for Epic. Enemies you defeat will drop Echoes of any rarity, but higher rarity Echoes will have lower chances to drop.

Don’t think that you can just equip all your Epic Echoes, because that will be impossible. Echoes have Capacity Costs, which means that equipping an Echo will lower your Maximum Echo Capacity. The more Echoes you equip, the more it goes down. The higher the rank of the Echo, the more capacity it will take.
