The recent release of Elden Ring Nightreign comes as a surprise to many, not because of its launch but because it is not what they wanted from a FromSoft title. Looking past the different style of gameplay loop, Nightreign still borrows a lot from its parent title, such as the need for stonesword keys to break imp seals. In this guide, we will quickly go through how you can get some of these.
Where To Get Stonesword Keys In Elden Ring Nightreign
If you are unaware, the stonesword keys in this game can be used to break seals and unlock extra boss fights in places like evergaols. It is a completely optional thing to do, but it does result in additional rewards for you and your party.
To get some of these, simply look for the small castles or forts that you can find all around the map. They contain chests that have a chance of dropping a stonesword key.
To be specific, you are looking for reinforced chests made of metal, just like the one shown in the image below. These do not guarantee the drop that you are looking for, but they do have a pretty high chance of giving you one.

You simply need to check high and low, as these chests can appear underground or on the bastions up top. If your party can spread out, you can cover more ground and find one pretty quickly early on in your run.
Once you get one, you can use it to open one of the evergaols all around the map. Just be sure that you are ready for the optional bosses before you go and use these keys!
That is pretty much everything you need to know in order to get some of these special keys in the game.
