Rogue is the one-shot class in World of Warcraft. If you haven’t played Lich King back when it was first released, well you have missed out on a lot. The rogues in WotLK were the best ever! If you choose everything properly you will be able to one-shot a lot of enemies in PvP. That is why in this guide we will be giving you the best Rogue Complete guide that you’ll need. Let’s get started.

Rogue Complete Guide | Best Race, Talents, Glyphs, Gear, Professions & Macros = WotLK

Race

Source – Skill Capped Wow Guides

Race might be the single most important thing when choosing to play the rogue class. Not only will the passive ability matter, but also it is very important to pick a smaller class so you won’t be easily spotted if you are invisible next to an enemy.

When you’re playing from the Alliance you will want to be choosing either the Human or Night Elf race. They are both fine to choose from, but we prefer to go for the Night Elf. The human is of course good because of its passive ability but the Night Elf gives you an extra vanish. Also, the Quickness is fantastic.

When going for the Horde though you will need to play an Orc. There is no other race that is simply close as good enough as the Orc. You will have lots of skills that will reduce the speed slow of the effectiveness of negative buffs, also the passive Blood Fury will make you attack much faster for a short period of time which is a game changer.

Talents

These are the talents that you want to choose. No matter what you’ll be playing simply these talents are what are going to make you the best Rogue in WoW. It will offer you much speed and much damage that you can do in a very short time. Not only that, you will have the chance to recover and come back for a second round of damage dealing too.

Glyphs

There are a lot of glyphs to choose form when playing the Rogue in WotLK. But there are some that are clearly better than others. Use these glyphs when playing the Rogue:

  • Glyph of Shadow Dance – it increases the duration of your Shadow Dance by 2 seconds. It might not seem like enough, but those 2 seconds can be the change between a life and death situation.
  • Glyph of Preparation – this one will give your Preparation ability to instantly reset the cooldown of Blade Flurry, Dismantle and Kick. Some people might not use these abilities, but they are crucial if you want to be winning PvP battles. They will give you that extra edge that you need.
  • Glyph of Gouge – it just reduces the energy cost of Gouge by 15 points. If you play a Rogue you will know just how much important can those 15 points be.
  • Glyph of Sprint – you will get an increased movement speed of your Spring ability by an additional 30%. This is a situation glyph that is highly effective but only in particular moments.
  • Glyph of Distract – you will get the range of your Distract ability increased drastically. This one is also situational. Make sure to use it when in big PvP battlegrounds.

Stat Priority

When playing a rogue you will need to follow a very distinct and strict stat priority. If you do not follow this one you won’t be as good.

  • 5% Hit > 650 Resilience > Attack Power > Crit %

This is what you’ll need to focus on when playing the Rogue in no matter what type of WoW expansion too.

Gear

This right here is the best gear that you should be going for when playing the Rogue. They are all items that can be actually acquired even before the arena season starts.

This is a PvE gearset that you’ll need to get. Also, it is gotten from PvE and dungeons which means that they are hard to get.

Gems

When using Gems for the Rogue you will want to make sure to place it as it is shown on the Stat Priority. There are a lot of Gems that give Attack Power and Hit % as well as Resilience. Stick with those at all times.

  • Rigid Autumn’s Blow
  • Mystic Autumn’s Blow
  • Enchanted Tear
  • Bright Scarlet Ruby

Professions

There are only 2 professions that you need for the Rogue and that is all. You will go for Jewelcrafting and Engineering. They give very cool gadgets to use as a rogue that will help even in PvP but the passives are also very handy.

Macros

You can use these macros as they are the most helpful:

  • #showtooltip

/cast [@arena 1] Premeditation

/cast [@arena 2] ShadowStep

/cast [@arena 3] Cheap Shot

You can also change them for arenas 1, 2, and 3.

That’s everything you need to know about being the best Rogue with the best build in WotLK. We hope this Rogue guide helped. A big thank you to Skill Capped Wow Rogue Guide from YouTube. Check them out here for more details.
