As a soulslike RPG, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers features a variety of challenging bosses that you can encounter at different stages. Besides the main bosses, you can also come across optional bosses. One such boss is the Bo Sorcerer boss that a lot of players have found incredibly frustrating to fight. You’ll encounter her towards the early to mid game stage. In this guide, we’ll go over everything you need to do to defeat this boss. This includes the recommended preparation, steps and how to counter the boss moves. With that said, let’s get into it!
Bo Sorcerer Boss Guide
The Bo Sorcerer is an optional boss that you can find near the Avian Dwelling shrine in Wuchang Fallen Feathers. She is one of the hardest bosses you’ll face at this stage – with many players finding her frustrating. This is because she can be a bit janky with projectiles that follow you to the ends of the earth!
However, by making certain changes, exploiting her weakness and dealing with her moves properly – you’ll be able to defeat her. Remember, you will need to be patient with this boss and constantly maintain distance.
She only has two phases, and it is in her second phases where the particularly nasty moves start appearing! Remember, she is a boss that does not fight fair at all.

Recommended Preparation
Here is a breakdown of all the armor, skills and gear you’ll want to bring along when facing the Bo Sorcerer:
Weapon: Longsword
The Longsword is essential because it makes staggering enemies so much easier. We’ll be using a move to get behind the boss and stagger them with a heavy attack. The longsword does this really fast making it a reliable option for this boss fight.
We recommend the Lashing Whip because of its range, but you can go for any you prefer.
Armor: Ming Armor Set
Your goal is to get the heaviest and best Physical Defense resistance and this armor offers the best one at this stage of the game. It drops from the Ming Dynasty armor at the Shu Temple. Luckily, there is no weight penalty so this will help give you an edge.

Pendants
- Bring an Eagle Pendant to help increase your stab attack power
- The Twin Infact Pendant is crucial for giving you additional stamina recovery speed
- For extra survivability, the Gourd Pendant will reduce the damage you take below a certain HP threshold
Spells
For the spell, you can bring along the Divine Ward if you’re struggling and taking a lot of damage. If you prefer a more offensive style of play, then there’s no need to bring it.
Items
- Manna Vase +6 with 7 charges. You’ll want to bring as much as you can to survive this tough boss
- Temperance to increase your weapon damage for a certain time
Skills
- Crescent Axe – Essential for dealing with the boss as it allows you to step backwards and create distance. The variant upgrades are not as important, but this one is a must have.
- Bone Needle – Blight – This boss is weak to Blight so having this Bone Needle in your Tempering menu will help you deal more damage.

Phase One Strategy: Maintain Distance & Punish Her Attacks
When the boss fight starts and the boss drop downs, you will see there is some distance between you and her. You should try to keep this distance throughout the entire fight – maybe even a little more. This means that you should never get greedy when you see an opportunity.
Otherwise, the boss will punish you for coming close. Additionally, the main reason for this distance is to bait out her projectiles moves. This will ensure that she doesn’t perform her close up devastating melee combos.

The move that you’re trying to bait out is her Aerial Light Waves move that you’ll know is coming when she goes in the air. Make sure that you are somewhat towards the middle, so that you have room to dodge the projectiles.
Once she does pull out the move, you will need to dodge four projectiles based on a fixed pattern: dodge left, right, left, dodge + Crescent Axe.
Basically when she fires the horizontal projectile, you need to dodge to avoid her attack. After that, performing Crescent Axe will allow you to get behind the boss.
This will allow you to use your heavy attack on her back and cause her to stagger. After that, you will be able to perform an Obliterate and cause her HP to go down!
The entire sequence that you want to follow is shown below. It will take you some time to get the timing right. But once you get it right, oh boy does it feel satisfying! It is also going to be your main method of doing damage to the Bo Sorcerer.

After you perform the Obliterate, the boss will be on the floor and it may be tempting to close the range down. However, if you do that, you will need to spend stamina. By the time you reach the boss, you will have no stamina to damage her and she will get up by the time you do.
So, instead, you should again maintain your distance and be patient, waiting for her next move. Your goal as before is to bait out the Aerial Light Waves move once again until you get her to the halfway point.

Key Moves To Watch Out For
Even if you keep her at a distance, or make a mistake of being too close, she will pull out some other moves from time to time.
Here are the key moves you need to be on the look out for in this phase:
- Leaping Slash and Spin: The boss does a single slash followed by a spinning attack with short range projectiles. Dodge the slash so you can avoid the spinning attack too.
- Trio Slash: The boss will dash towards you and perform three slashes. This attack has very strong tracking and if it does come out, try to get close and dodge around her. The slashes have really good tracking so being close is essential.
- Water Dance: She fires two orbs of water that are simple enough to dodge. But try to dodge as far as possible because the orbs explode and deal some cheap damage.
- Ground Slam: The boss will hover in the air and suddenly slam in front of you. Unfortunately, there’s no indication of the slam coming out, and you just have to calculate the timing based on how much she is hovering. Not a fair move at all!
- Corkscrew: A fairly easy move to dodge where she dashes towards you in a corkscrew motion. Make sure that you dodge as this move cannot be parried!

Phase Two Strategy: The Tree Is Your Best Friend
In phase two, the Bo Sorcerer pulls out some really devastating moves that tend to make people rage quit. Besides that, she also brings out new extend versions of her old moves to throw you off to further add frustration.
The first new move you’ll need to worry about is the Water Tornado – that is immediately activated when the boss transitions to the new phase. Once this happens, immediately run towards the tree in the arena.
Hide behind the tree, making sure to keep some distance away and the tornadoes will simply crash into it. Be sure to look around the tree and have a view of the boss so you know what the next move is.

Another new move you need to worry about is Water Burst, where projectiles start raining down from the sky. This move activates pretty fast so you’ll need to be quick to head to the tree. It will block most of the projectiles.
Again, having a view of the boss is crucial since she can immediately go into a new attack and you need to know where she is.

As before, the main method of doing damage is baiting our her Aerial Light Waves move – which will still come out in the second phase if you keep the right distance. Once you dodge the projectiles, dodge and use Crescent Axe to get behind her.
Punish her with a heavy attack to the back to stagger her and use an Obliterate as before. Make sure you always do this after the horizontal projectile.
Keep repeating this move until you have killed her! Make sure that you always keep your distance and do not get greedy!

Additional Moves To Watch Out For
- Quad Slash: An extended version of the Trio Slash where she deals an additional slash that can also send out a light wave. Easy to fall prey to if you’re used to the Trio Slash move. Staying close to her and dodging will help you deal with it better.
- Ground Light Waves: The boss can send light waves from many different ground based combos. Since you’ll be at a distance, you want to make sure you’re always ready for them and dodge at the optimal time.

Wrap Up
That’s everything you need to know about defeating the Bo Sorcerer Boss in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. She is a boss that does not play fair at all, and might be the most challenging one you face at this stage. Her attacks track extremely well and she pulls our projectiles at random points. So, your goal is to play patiently and never go in guns blazing.
With distance, you can bait out her Aerial Light Waves move, punishing her heavily in the process. It might take you some time, but this way, you’ll not die multiple times and end up starting all over again. Patience is key! Even if you die multiple times, keep at it and you’ll be able to learn the patterns. You might also want to check out our great centipede blightweaver boss guide if you’re struggling against it too!
