Sea Of Stars: Mossy Cache Puzzle Solution

After finally beating the Dweller of Torment most players take a sigh of breath as they enjoy the change in scenery. Going from the dark and damp caves of Torment Peak to the luscious green valleys of Watcher Island is for sure welcome.

However, going down the path on the right, players encounter Mossy Cache which contains the Vial of Time and a secret chest. But first, you must solve a picture puzzle that blocks your path to both of these treasures. Follow this guide to find out the best way you can tackle and solve the puzzle within minutes in Sea Of Stars!

Mossy Cache Puzzle Solution – Step By Step

Upon entering the stage you will soon encounter a dial. This dial can be used to rotate each of the 9 square blocks that make up a single picture on the ground ahead. A Yellow Orb will indicate which block is currently selected and will rotate.

Method 1:

The best way to understand and solve this puzzle would be to rotate the blocks in such a way that their borders match with the edges of the puzzle and make a square on the outside (except the middle block that has no borders). After that just rotate the middle block until it matches with the rest of the picture.

In the end, you should have a picture that looks like this:

Method 2:

You can also solve this puzzle by rotating each block a set amount of times. As this puzzle and the starting position of each block are the same for everyone, you can just follow the given rotation instructions for each block and be on your way to claim your prize!

Before starting, make sure that you have the puzzle in its default configuration (as shown above) otherwise this method will not work. If you have already rotated some of the blocks, just exit and re-enter the stage to reset their positions.

Here are the rotations for each block:

1. Top-Left: Rotate clockwise three times.
2. Top-Mid: Rotate clockwise two times.
3. Top-Right: Rotate clockwise one time.
4. Mid-Left: Rotate clockwise two times.
5. Mid: Rotate clockwise three times.
6. Mid-Right: Rotate clockwise two times.
7. Bottom-Left: Rotate clockwise three times.
8. Bottom-Mid: Rotate clockwise one time.
9. Bottom-Right: Rotate clockwise two times.

If for some reason it did not work, do not worry, just quickly exit and re-enter the stage to reset the positions for the block and follow the given steps again. You’ll get it the next time for sure!

Hidden Chest & Rewards

After solving the puzzle be sure to grab the secret chest that is just above the top-left block of the puzzle. This chest contains one Rainbow Conch.

After that, climb on top of the tower just up ahead and grab the Vial of Time, which is your reward for completing the puzzle.
