Upgrading your starship’s reactor in Starfield enhances its power output, but the process is much more complex than just purchasing the largest available module. Starfield offers reactors in three classes: A, B, and C. However, the upgrades are not as straightforward as you might expect. A B-class reactor, might be bigger and more expensive, but it doesn’t mean it will provide more power than its A-class counterpart.
How To Upgrade Your Ship’s Reactor In Starfield
To upgrade your ship, you need to talk to a Ship Services Technician. Visit a large city with a starport to upgrade your ship, such as Akila, New Atlantis and Cydonia.
When you talk to the Ship Services Tech, choose “I’d like to view and modify my ships.” The upgrade screen offers two different options.
“Upgrade Ship” section will take you to a screen where you can upgrade your existing parts, such as reactor. You can do this until you max out the reactor level.
The second section will take you to the Ship Building page. There, you can change the existing parts of your ship with new ones, including the reactors. Keep in mind that you can only have one reactor at a time, so choose wisely.
