Axe Boss Solo Guide

In this guide, I will show you the Axe Boss’s location and how you can defeat it all by yourself. You just have to get good grasp on its attack patterns and phases. Let’s get right into it!

Boss Location

The first step is to find the location of the boss in the game. This boss can be found on Toropikaru Island as shown in the image below. To get here, we recommend talking to the Boat Merchant and purchasing a boat from her.

Once the boat is purchased, hop in it, follow the cliff to the side, and head straight from there. Eventually, the island should come into view. Make sure that you are prepared since there might be other players on the island hunting for bounties.

Before taking on the boss, we recommend being on a decent server where your ping is around 150 ms. Many players are also unable to defeat this boss due to the high ping on servers that causes the game to lag. Hence, we recommend server hopping until you find a server with stable ping.

Boss Phase 1

This boss has two phases, which have different attacks. This section will focus on the attacks that this boss uses when in Phase 1.

The main attack that this boss tends to use is the Purple Lightning Attack, as shown in the image below.

This attack usually triggers once you have gained considerable distance from the boss and then come close to him again.

Purple lightning move

To avoid this move, simply dodge to the left and attack him. We recommend getting at least two hits in and then dodging backward. You can go for three hits, but there is the risk of taking damage from additional attacks.

Stomp attack

Occasionally, the boss will trigger a Stomp Attack, as shown in the image above. For this, you will need to dodge backward to avoid getting caught in the radius.

This attack is the reason why you should dodge backwards after the Purple Lightning Attack as otherwise you will be caught in it.

Another attack is the normal axe swing that this boss does. Simply dodge in the opposite direction to avoid this attack.

Boss Phase 2

In the latest update, the boss’s health has been increased to a total of 5,000. Hence, once you get him down to 1000 Health, he will enter Phase 2.

You can identify that the boss is in this phase by looking for his axe as he throws it away in this phase.

In this phase, the boss’s attack changes, so you will need to adapt as well. One of his attacks is essentially a slam attack, as shown in the image below.

The boss will usually jump into the air momentarily before the attack as an indication. Hence, try to dodge backward to avoid getting caught in this attack.

Slam attack

The foot stomp attack from Phase 1 is also used by the boss occasionally, so make sure that you are aware of it.

Lastly, the Purple Lightning Attack is replaced by a one-hand slam attack that can be initiated from either arm. Therefore, you will need to be careful and avoid in the opposite direction of the attack.

Keep dodging and attacking the boss, and you should eventually be able to defeat it.
