There are all sorts of monsters that can and will kill you in Lethal Company. Fortunately for you, there are various tools that you can purchase that can potentially help raise you and your crew’s chances of survival while scavenging the many dangerous moons in the game. Among them is the boombox, but how can you get it and how exactly is it useful?
How to Get & Use the Boombox
First, walk up to the terminal in your ship and type “store” to bring up the shop menu. From here, scroll down and type “boombox”, then confirm your purchase in the next window that pops up.
After ordering the boombox, step outside of your ship and wait for the item to be delivered to you via a pod that will land nearby.
After opening the pod, the boombox should pop out and fall into the ground. Upon picking it up, you will notice that you can either drop it by pressing “G” or toggle the music by pressing the left mouse button.
Despite how silly this item may seem, it can actually be useful in distracting enemies, as the music will attract their attention.
You can also use it to mark locations while you’re inside the facility of any given moon. For example, if you leave it playing music beside the entrance, you can follow the sounds to make your way back without getting lost.
With that said, you should keep in mind that it has a battery life of just under six minutes, so if you’re using it to navigate a facility, you should try to hurry and not linger too long.
That’s pretty much all you need to know about the boombox. There are various other helpful items that you can order in the game, though this has to be one of the “funnier” ones that is surprisingly really useful!
