Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a sequel to Dragon’s Dogma, an RPG game that released a decade ago. That piece of equipment is called the Ring of Derision, and this ring basically “weakens all of the wearers attacks to the fullest extent possible”.
That is the official description for the item, and it explains why you are not doing any damage. Some have said that the ring can be acquired while out in the world, others are saying that you get it for when you have to do a trial for the Sphinx. Either way, you need to unequip it immediately if you want to start dealing damage once more.
