You can make this unique sandwich and feed it to her. Doing so will earn you her favor, and it’s always good to be a friend of royalty. Plus, you’ll get a Red Ant as an ally and pet!
In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know to get the Juicy Mushroom Sandwich so you can befriend the Red Ant Queen.
How To Get Juicy Mushroom Sandwich for the Red Ant Queen
To be able to get the Juicy Mushroom Sandwich, you need to make it. For that, you will first need to explore the Haze Lab in the Haze region.
The Haze region is covered in a deadly miasma. You’ll need to equip yourself with a Gas Mask or bring plenty of Gastro Goo. The Haze Lab is found within the depths of this subterranean region.
To help you find it more easily, the map above shows the Haze Lab’s location. It’s fairly close to where the Red Ant Queen is, which we assume you’ve already met if you’re here!
Once you’ve found the Haze Lab, you will need to reach the end of it. It’s a fairly long “dungeon” type of area, and it has some randomized elements if you’re playing in New Game+.
We highly recommend getting some DeDuper Jelly and upgrading your weapons past their limit at this point. It will make going through the New Game+ version of the Haze Lab easier.
Nonetheless, you simply need to reach the end of the Haze Lab to get the Haze BURG.L Chip.
With the Haze BURG.L Chip in your possession, you need to return to the Oak Lab in Oak Hills and speak with BURG.L. Give him the Haze Chip and you’ll now able to unlock a new recipe!
Simply purchase the “Friendship Offering: Red Ant Queen” Science from BURG.L’s shop, it costs 2500 Raw Science.
Making the Sandwich and Offering it to the Red Ant Queen
Now that you’ve unlocked the Juicy Mushroom Sandwich recipe, it’s time to get cooking. You’ll need the following materials:
- Aphid Honeydew x2 – Dropped by live Aphids while they’re near Clovers, but you can also get it by harvesting dead Aphids. Aphids are mostly found in the Grasslands region.
- Mushroom Chunk x5 – Obtained when chopping down Mushrooms with an Axe that is at least Tier 2. Mushrooms are most common in the Flooded Zone and Oak Hill regions.
- Apple Bits x2 – Obtained by chopping down Apples with a Tier 2 Axe or higher. Apples are found all over the entire Backyard, so they’re easy to find!
Once you’ve got all the materials, use any Oven you have to make the sandwich. What a great peace offering, right?
With the Juicy Mushroom Sandwich in your inventory, visit the Red Ant Queen once again. If you need a refresher, the map above marks her anthill in the Central Grasslands region.
Speak to the Red Ant Queen and choose to give her the Juicy Mushroom Sandwich.
Do note, though, this will befriend her instantly. You’ll be unable to poison or infect her for this playthrough!
Anyway, the Red Ant Queen will joyfully devour her Juicy Mushroom Sandwich and thank you. She’ll give you a Baby Red Ant as a pet, which is one of the many new features in the Fully Yoked Update.
