Kido is naturally the best skill tree for the Quincy race in Type Soul, which means that a Quincy Kido is pretty easy to make and use. Frankly, it doesn’t require a lot of skill to play effectively, yet it’s surprisingly strong. It’s easy to see why it’s becoming so popular in the game’s PvP! In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about the best Quincy Kido build and its strongest ability combos.

Best Quincy Kido Build and Setup Guide

Quincy Kido Skill Tree example

If you want the best Quincy Kido build possible, you will need to put 50 points into Kido and 15 into Speed. This will give you access to all Kido abilities, as well as give you key skills from the Speed tree, such as Flashstep Mastery 2.

It might seem smart to go for 10 Speed and 5 Kendo instead, as it will unlock Safeguard and Brace. However, those two skills aren’t as useful for a Quincy Kido build as the skills you get from Speed. The previously mentioned Flashtep Mastery 2, for example, notably reduces Reiatsu costs and cooldowns!

Fear Schrift in use

As for your Schrift, you should try to get Fear. It’s a Rare Tier Shcrift, so it only has a 10% to appear when you first get your Schrift or reroll your element. Fear used to be considered B tier about a month ago, but it’s currently much stronger. It’s way better than a Rare Schrift should be, truthfully.

Fear’s abilities primarily allow you to apply Slow, Stun enemies, and even afflict the “Mindbreak” status effect. These abilities are somewhat easy to avoid if you use them willy-nilly, though, so keep that in mind.

When it comes to other parts of the Quincy setup, such as weapons and clans, you can choose anything you want. You should be golden as long as you have 50 Kido, 15 Speed, and the Fear Schrift!

Now, the important thing to know is how to properly utilize your abilities and do combos.

Best Quincy Kido Abilities and Combos

Focal Point showcase from official game Trello.

Focal Point – This is one of the best starter abilities for Quincy Kido builds. It can stun for a long time, which makes it easy to follow up with anything you want, including Fear abilities. However, be careful of following up with Still Silver too often. Focal Point + Still Silver is a commonly used combo by players, which has made it very predictable.

Shadows showcase from official game Trello.

Shadows – Makes a shadowy clone appear near your opponent and hit them. Deals extra damage when followed up with Piercing Light attacks, causing Holy Selection. It’s also a fantastic ability to combo into other skills like Still Silver, Holy Thunder, and Sankt Bogen. Combo these attacks together for huge damage, but their timing can take some getting used to.

Fear Extension showcase from official game Trello.

Fear Extension – A charging dash that applies Slow on hit. This is a fantastic ability to use against enemies who block your long combos, as it can break their guard. On top of breaking guard, it will also apply the Slow debuff, and it can combo easily into abilities like Licht Regen and Holy Thunder.

Licht Regen showcase from official game Trello.

Licht Regen – Jump into the air and shoot bombs directly below you. It generally makes other players panic, which makes it easy to follow up with certain skills. The most notable follow-up is Blooming Cut, due to its speed.

Slide showcase from official game Trello.

Slide – You slide sideways on the ground, using Reishi to refill Spirit ammo and shooting arrows at the mouse’s position. Can work with Closer, which is a damage buff you get when you only have 1 ammo left. Ideally, you want to use ammo until you have a single shot, then use Slide for massive damage!
