This brand new Souls-like, Chinese Mythology-inspired RPG game called Black Myth: Wukong contains a wealth of secrets, transformations to unlock, and a bunch of optional bosses.

If you’re wondering if you can go back after finishing the final boss to uncover more secrets the game has to offer, we’ll tell you all you need to know.

Can You Free Roam After Finishing The Story

At this point, you’ve defeated the final boss and finally completed the game. But there is still so much to explore in the vast world of Black Myth: Wukong. Is it possible to continue exploring the lands even after the storyline ends?

The short answer is “yes”. Keep reading the guide till the end for more details on how to free-roam after completing the game.

Accessing Free-Roam

  • When you’ve defeated the final boss, you’ll be automatically taken to the Title screen of the game.
  • From there, click on the option to “Continue”.
  • The game will spawn you just before the final boss.

Note: Avoid clicking on “Enter a New Cycle” because this will overwrite your save and start a New Game+

Limitations

While “free-roam” indicates that you get to freely roam the Black Myth world, it is important to point out that you cannot visit older chapters. This includes fighting the bosses from the main storyline.

You can, however, go back to complete content you may have missed. This could be optional bosses, item drops, or simply an area you’ve yet to explore.

Since the game offers so much content, it’s possible you may have missed something or found a side boss too strong to defeat. Defeating the last main boss or finishing the game does not take away your chance to revisit old foes and settle scores.
