The Dev Diaries for Risk of Rain 2’s DLC: Seekers of the Storm had only revealed two exciting survivors while also mentioning that there are a total of three new ones. Fans have been anticipating who the last survivor will be.

But the wait has ended and now it has been revealed that you can get a chance to unlock the final boss, False Son, as a playable survivor once you purify his heart. This guide will tell you how to do that.

How to Unlock Secret Character (False Son) in Seekers of the Storm DLC

Defeating the False Son is not enough to unlock him as a playable character. You’re going to have to complete some other extra steps to ensure that you get to play him after you destroy this final boss.

Here’s what you need to do to ensure False Son becomes a playable character after you defeat him

Steps to unlock False Son

  1. First, you’ll need to find an Aurelionite in Gilded Coast. You can get there either through the Gold Shrine or through the portal in the Lunaar Bazaar
  2. Defeat the Aurelionite and pick up the Halcyon Seed.
  3. Go through the green portal, find and fight the False Son Boss.
  4. Killing the False Son with the Halcyon Seed will enable you to unlock him as a playable character and purify him.

A Bug

It’s important to make players aware of a bug that prevents you from unlocking the False Son. You can still make attempts and you might unlock the boss. Once the bug is fixed, this method should work flawlessly.

Completing these steps will ensure that you’ve purified the heart of the False Son. The False Son is ready to join your side and assist you in adventures along the way!
