Just in case you are wondering why you can’t use the Crown Upgrades, well to be able to do so you will first need to beat the Bishop Boss. There are 4 Crown Upgrades that you can unlock in total in Cult of the Lamb. These are the upgrades:
- Resurrection – this allows you to sacrifice a follower when you have been defeated to bring you back to life and battle.
- Hunger – you will be able to eat a meal once per day to receive a blue heart
- Darkness Within – it gives you are disease heart at the start of each run
- Omnipresence – allows you to focus and returns you to your cult at any point of time in raids
To unlock all of these upgrades you will firstly need the Heart of the Heretic. These will drop from the main boss fights after you’ve won them. They drop once per boss.
Which Are The Best Crown Upgrades?
1 – Omnipresence
For lots of casual players, this is your go-to. It is the best crown upgrade to pick because you will be able to leave a run early on and save all your loot. No one wants to lose all their precious loot just because they made a single mistake!
Use it all the time before big battles or when you’re thinking that you’re just about to die from something. It will even allow you to restart a run at the start if you don’t like the weapons you’ve gotten. For example, you might want to use something else than the claws! Well go on ahead and do a restart!
2 – Resurrection
When you have, and you will have, an unlimited amount of followers you can actually use this upgrade for free! Sacrificing one of the many followers will mean nothing, especially in mid to late game. So basically this upgrade comes as free to use and its value is amazing!
