They say poetry can sometimes soothe the soul, calm the angriest of mortal men. Well, Kratos could definitely use that, as he sometimes still struggles with his anger (can you blame him?). In God of War Ragnarok, you can find poetry pieces all over the Nine Realms that belong to Kvasir, who Mimir claims to be the greatest poet in all of the Nine Realms. If that’s the case, then having his works could definitely add some lore to the game. If you want to find all of the poems, then use this guide to help you do so.

All Kvasir’s Poem Locations – God of War Ragnarok

There are 14 of Kvasir’s Poems spread throughout all of the Nine Realms, and each of them are a reference to games from the PlayStation family. Here’s how you can find them:

In Svartalfheim, you can find one of the first pieces of Kvasirs poems in the Aurvangar Wetlands. It’s located in the area where you have to do the water wheel puzzle. This poem is a reference to Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Shortly after reaching Nidavellir, you first need to get the Sonic Arrows before you can get this poem. After getting the arrows from Sindri, go back to the dock where you see the glowing green barricade and shoot it with the arrows. You can pick up the poem then, which is a reference to MLB: The Show.

The next poem can be found in the back of the Lyngbakr Island, which is the island on the back of the whale in Bay of Bounty. This is still in Svartalfheim, and going to this island is a part of The Weight of Chains favor. This poem is a reference to The Last of Us: Part II.

Moving deeper into Svartalfheim, you should eventually reach the Jarnsmida Pitmines. There is a very long puzzle that you need to do, but once you have completed the puzzle, you will find the poem next to a Legendary Chest. This poem is a reference to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

Once you leave Svartalfheim and go to Alfheim, you will find a poem when you reach The Strond. The poem can be found just after you use the Twilight Stone to destroy a wooden door to fight some Wretches. Stand at the doorway and face forward, there should be a ledge you can see that lets you drop down. Turn left, and there should be a Legendary Chest next to the poem. This poem is a reference to Death Stranding.

Once you make it to the Temple of Light and rescue Tyr, you can find a poem when you go up the long curved staircase that leads to a second Light Door. In the process of lowering it, you will have to leap up to a ledge. Go left to find a balcony with the poem. This poem is a reference to Dreams.

This poem can be found after lowering a Twilight Stone using the wheel, then getting attacked by Nightmares. After taking down all the enemies, you should find a doorway. Look to yyour left and there will be a room with the poem on a table. The poem references Concrete Genie.

Once you make it to The Barrens, you can find a poem in the north eastern area. There should be a skeleton mouth that you can enter through. Once you enter, you will have to fight a lot of enemies. But after taking them all down, look for a wall you can climb up that leads to the eastern part of the room. There will be a Legendary Chest next to the poem, which is a reference to Astro Bot Rescue Mission.

Going to Vanaheim, you can find a poem in The Southern Wilds. You can only get to The Southern Wilds at night time, which will be explained to you when you get to the area. When you reach the area, you will find a cracked floor with a mark in the middle. You have to find a way to get up high in order to jump up and slam your body down to the ground, revealing a poem that references Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.

Once you complete The Reckoning main quest, The Forbidden Sands area in Alfheim can now be explored. Go back to Alfheim and go to the area. Go north east of The Forbidden Sands until you spot a small tower under a rock arch. There will be a poem there that references Journey.

Back to Vanaheim again, you can go The Sinkholes only after you complete the Creatures of Prophecy main quest. Here in The Sinkholes, head to the area where you fight Crag Jaw, then go to the north west corner of the area and look for a Red Fungi Bramble, which you need to destroy. Go through the gap and the poem will be next to a dead body. The poem references Ghost of Tsushima.

Going back to Vanahein, go The Jungle region for the next poem. There are two ways to reach this poem depending if you have done the Return of the River favor.

  • If you have not done the favor, then you will have to cross over by using a rock bridge. You will have to do this at night, because the road to the rock bridge will be blocked by plants.
  • If you have the favor, then you can use the boat to reach the area.

Once you have made it, find the tunnels with a large gap. Make your way to it by climbing the wall to your left. The poem will be next to a dead body. This poem references The Order: 1886.

After completing the Forging Destiny main quest, go back to Svartalfheim and go to The Applecore. Find a large rock with a glowing light on the side. This is a Wind Vent, which you need to use the Draupnir Spear to blow up the rock. There will be a dead body next to the poem, which references Bloodborne.

The last poem you can find is in Midgard in The Oarsmen. You need to get inside the large boats first, but once you do, go back and climb into the giant boat and get to the top, where the poem will be hiding next to a chest. This poem references Days Gone.
