Modern Warfare 2: How To Change Your Status To Appear Offline

You either play with your mates or you don’t play at all. But sometimes, there’s an in-between where you feel adventurous and want to go solo. After all, it feels good coming out on top without any help. But lately, it’s becoming an arduous task to do something as simple as going offline or appearing invisible to others. It’s almost like the game is telling you what to do. Don’t worry though, there’s still a workaround for this. In this guide we’ll make sure that you appear offline by changing your status in Modern Warfare 2. So let’s dive right in!

How To Change Your Status To Appear Offline | Modern Warfare 2

Now appearing offline in Modern Warfare 2 can be confusing as the option doesn’t always appear to be available and it even differs depending on what platform you’re on. Below you can see the process for appearing offline for the PC.

Head on over to callofduty.com and sign in with your account if you haven’t yet. Upon logging in click on your username located on the upper right and choose preferences.

Now on the left side of your screen you will four more options. Go to the bottom and choose Privacy & Security and scroll all the way to the bottom until you see Game Data And Profile Privacy. If you don’t want anyone to receive push notifications when you log in go ahead and set Sign-on Visible to none.

If you want that extra layer of privacy go to your Steam client and navigate to your Friends tab. You will see multiple options here but for now you can either choose invisible or just go with offline completely. This will carry over to Modern Warfare 2 as well.
