Pilgrammed: Mondo Squid Guide

Palm trees and sea salt!

When fighting bosses in any game there’s always a guarantee of your butt being handed to you on a silver platter when you don’t know what you’re doing. This happened because you chose magic over a sword and shield!

But not to worry, fighting squids was never meant to be easy in the first place as they do have multiple advantages against you if you catch my drift. In this guide, you’ll be facing Mondo Squid as you traverse the western lands in search of treasures, secrets, and glory!

Mondo Squid Guide – Pilgrammed

Mondo Squid can be found north of Big Bay, not a hard place to find as it’s literally just west of the Forest where you spawn.

But of course, before sailing over there proper preparation is needed as there are a couple of other hazards around the island that have a chance of making the experience a tad bit frustrating.

Here are a few things to keep in mind to make the encounter more forgiving:

As you make your way up Big Bay, keep rolling to the left or right to lessen the chances of being hit by a stray cannonball, once you’re clear of these hazards make your way around the stone spire where Redbird is.

You’ll encounter Mondo Squid momentarily as you scale up the ledges.

Be warned, the oversized mollusk will leap right at you if you get too close, you’ll have to keep moving as the squid will keep firing fireballs at you.

You can chip away at its health by using ranged weapons like the bow, or if you’re in a swashbuckling mood use a Cutlass or any other sword to let your well-hydrated nemesis know that you’re here to fight with style.

That’s right, you can parry its attacks by waiting for the right opening, this way you can spam your attacks longer before it gets back on their tentacles.

Whatever you do, don’t just stand in one place. If it starts spearheading its way toward you simply step over to the side to avoid the consequences completely. Same deal if it ever jumps upwards to try and crush you.

Now go out there and get yourself some Calamari!
