Sea Of Thieves | A Legendary Search for Cursed Treasure Voyage Guide

Cursed Chests are known to bring all sorts of calamities and mild inconveniences to the sailor who wishes to disturb their slumber. Sailing the high seas with one on board can be daunting enough, but who’s to say you can’t challenge Neptune himself and have all four at the same time?

To begin, go to Voyages and choose A Legendary Search for Cursed Treasure, it’s a voyage with multiple chapters that are only made available to Pirate Legends. During this voyage, you’ll be using an enchanted compass called the Wayfinder of Legends to locate the accursed chests, each of these are buried on nearby islands so a little bit of hopping is necessary to find one. You can buy the voyage with 75 Doubloons.

There’s no telling which chest you’ll come across as you can get multiple copies of each for every island you visit. It’s best to get a hold of them nonetheless if you’re looking to get commendations like the Hoarder of Grog Soaked Gold or Hoarded of Treasured Tears. These commendations depend on the chest you’ll be selling of course so get digging!

To complete the voyage, use the Wayfinder of Legends to find and dig up the cursed chests, you’ll know you’re on top of one once it starts spinning uncontrollably and refuses to point north. While digging your work will be interrupted by nearby skeletons guarding the chest, dispatch them with whatever weapon you have on hand and continue with the hunt.

If you’re island hopping and wish to hoard more chests remember to throw the cursed items overboard first to make sure your ship is still intact when you come back, here’s what you’ll be looking for:

  • Chest of a Thousand Grogs – Will keep you drunk and inebriated, can be sold for a maximum of 2600 gold.
  • Chest of Sorrow – Will occasionally cry and fill the ship with water, can be sold for a maximum of 3500 gold.
  • Chest of Rage – Will overheat and explode from time to time, setting your ship ablaze. Douse the flames with water and sell the chest for 3000 to 3500 gold, nearly the same value as the Chest of Sorrow.
  • Chest of Everlasting Sorrow – Worse than the normal Chest of Sorrow as it cries endlessly, requiring even more attention to make sure your ship doesn’t fill up with water, can be sold for a hefty 6000 – 7000 gold however.

Those are all of the cursed chest you can get your hands on along with their detriments, now you can try and dig them up for yourself and amass a fortune!

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
