Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of those games where you’re rightly rewarded for thinking outside of the box. If you perform something out of the ordinary then that alone means you and the developers have the same twisted way of going on about things. Things like breaking through a cracked wall.
Cracked walls are easy to find, you just – well, find a crack in the wall. But it can still be quite confusing when it comes to busting right through due to the amount of options that aren’t really explained to you. Stick around and read the guide before you even think about using one of your spell slots!
How to Break Cracked Walls
You can identify cracked walls in Baldur’s Gate 3 by hovering your mouse pointer over one. Here are your options when it comes to Breaking Cracked Walls. First option includes using a melee weapon that deals bludgeoning damage. These can either be a hammer or a maul. Piercing or slashing type weapons won’t do anything so think twice before you start poking a wall with a rapier.
Your second option will include using spells that has a Radiant or Force damage type. Be aware that some walls will have certain resistances as well. To identify these resistances, simply right click on the wall. You’d be surprised to know how much abuse a stone wall can take if you look at the image below.
Another thing you should look out for when dealing with walls is the Sturdy effect. This means that you’ll have to apply a certain amount of damage or violence to a wall before it actually breaks. To be specific, we’re talking at least 10 damage. So if you have a weapon on hand that only deals exactly 10 or slightly more, you might end up having to keep swinging until you get lucky.
For magic users, you can make use of Eldritch Blast and Magic Missile since they deal Force damage. And for Radiant, you have spells like Scared Flame and Guiding Bolt.
And that’s how you can deal with cracked walls in Baldur’s Gate 3. Another easy thing to crack open is Kagha’s Chest, something that we also happened to have a guide for.
