The first thing you want to do when starting Cosmoteer is build your own ship. Here, you will let your imagination fly. Want to rebuild the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars? You can. The Enterprise from Star Trek? No problem. Your imagination can run wild and do whatever you want. But, there are some things you need to consider when building your ship. In this Build A Ship guide, we give you some tips on how to create an efficient ship when you first start Cosmoteer.
How To Build A Ship – Cosmoteer
When building a ship, you need to have some essentials to keep the ship functioning. Here are what you need:
- Structure – This is the base of your ship. From your base structure, you can then branch out and build your ship the way you want.
- Utilities – You will need these for when you do things like mining asteroids and such.
- Storage – As the name suggests, this is where you will store things. Whether it’s cargo or raw materials, storage is important to have on your ship.
- Production – With production, your ship can work as a mobile factory. You can use your raw materials and turn them into other refined materials for building your ship.
- Power – This is important. Without power, your ship will not be able to do anything, let alone move.
- Crew – Just like power, the crew is also important. They are what keep the ship running. Be sure to add doors and corridors as well, as they are essential for the crew to get around.
- Flight – You wouldn’t expect that to be here, but flight is important as well. A lot of newcomers often look over this.
- Defenses – In a fight, firepower isn’t everything. Without a good defense, you will be shot down within seconds.
- Projectile Weapons – These are weapons that use ammo, so make sure to stock up on ammo regularly to avoid running out.
- Energy Weapons – Unlike Projectile Weapons, Energy Weapons use power from the ship.
When building your ship, these are what you will need. But you also need to take heed of a couple of things. For example, your weapons. You need to keep them aimed in one direction. I know having side weapons might seem like a good idea, but having all of your firepower aimed in one direction will end a battle much faster than having them spread out.
You should also make sure that everything is close together. A big ship might seem like a good idea, but your crew will have a hard time getting around. A slow crew means a slow-operating ship. Having a smaller ship means your crew can get around easily, making your ship operate and respond much faster.
