Nothing is more frustrating then coming back home, booting on, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, and realizing your 10-hour game progress has been reset. This is currently a bug in the game which is especially prevalent for those that experience game crashes a lot. We’ll share how you can, somewhat, recover them.

Progress Reset – Is There A Fix?

The bug that resets your progress in the game is by far the most broken bug right now. It essentially wipe out an entire character’s progress if you so happen to crash in the middle of the game. Currently, there’s no official fix for the progress reset bug.

Developers, however, have requested that players to “send it in an e-mail along with a description of the bug to drgs-support@fundaygames.dk.” To find log files:

  1. Open File Explorer.
  2. Navigate to %AppData%/../LocalLow/Funday Games/DRG Survivor
  3. Zip the whole folder and send it

This will hopefully get the bug fixed in the near future. But for now, we’ll share about another method to help you recover your account. Well, at least partly.

One particular user shared how they managed to “recover” their progress by making use of the editor to edit DRGS files.

  1. Open the game save file at %appdata%locallow%funday%DRG survivor.
  2. Edit the DRGS file back to the value of your character.
  3. Open strg f and scroll down for credits and materials to change their value.
  4. Unlock class ranks (3 for scout, 2 for gunner, etc.)

However, this method does not allow you to get your milestones back nor the specs on the dwarves. And while you can change your level, it will only make gaining those specific specs harder to achieve. So, there’s that to note.

Now that you’ve hopefully gotten your character back, here’s how you can unlock even more classes in the game!
