The Hallowtide event has finally returned in Deepwoken. And along the event comes the Scroom as well. Yes, you heard it right, Scroom! If you’re interested in acquiring the highly coveted costume, then you’ve come at the right place. In this guide, I’ll show you everything you’ll need to know on how to get Scroom in this year’s event.
How To Get Scroom
First, head over to Vigil’s Island, where you usually grab your training items. To your left, look for a Pumpkin and make sure to trigger its explosion, which will summon The Floating Keep.
Continue with the interaction and you’ll find yourself in the Floating Keep itself. Once you’re there, the scenery is just breathtaking, kudos to the amazing design team, by the way.
Now, it’s pretty straightforward. Navigate to the right, passing the Jack-o’-Lantern, and engage in a conversation with Lysander.
Afterwards, Lysander will provide you with a comprehensive explanation of Hallowtide and the three essential items required:
- Shellstock
- Paperette
- And Fine Ink
These items can be discovered in various chests scattered throughout the game or acquired from other players.
Once you’ve collected them all, you’ll be rewarded with the Hallowtide Mask. If you’re interested, here’s a more-detailed guide on How To Get A Hallowtide Mask that you might find useful.
With the Hallowtide Mask equipped, you can approach NPCs and interact with them. When you use the mask on an NPC that hasn’t been spooked yet, they will react with fear.
Scaring NPCs with the Hallowtide Mask will earn you Joy points, but there’s a 1-hour cooldown between attempts. Additionally, you can trade items with other players to help you complete your collection.
Once you’ve gathered 100 Joy, you can purchase the Mushroom costume from Lysander. And here’s where the magic happens. When you put on the Scroom Mushroom costume, you’ll transform into a Scroom.
Yes, you become a Scroom, with your skin and helmet replaced by this unique look. You won’t be able to unequip it until you specifically remove the Scroom Mushroom costume.
There are various methods to accumulate Joy, such as rotating through many NPCs or participating in the special event, called Trial of the Gourdskipper. Completing the event can also reward you with Joy.
