For the “A New Directive” quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, Eve tasks you with fetching some stuff for her and Wall-E.
Sounds easy enough? Well, first off, all the monkeys aren’t exactly easy to find, and the game doesn’t tell how to feed them.
Not only that, but there are also other objectives like Swirling Sands and Flowers that might confuse you. That’s probably why you’re reading this guide.
Don’t worry, fam. I’m here to show you exactly everything you’ll need to do to complete this quest!
A New Directive Quest Guide
Objective #1 Feed 2 Monkeys!
Now, for the first objective of the “A New Directive” quest, you have the opportunity to select 2 of your favorite monkeys to feed.
There’s a total of 5 options to choose from, so feel free to choose which one you think is most convenient for you.
Although keep in mind that some of the monkeys have a hectic schedule and will only be there on a certain time:
- Classic Monkey – The Docks (All Day)
- Beige Monkey – The Ruins (12 PM – 12 AM)
- Black and Brown Monkey – The Courtyard (All Day)
- Black and Grey Monkey – The Ruins (Game will tell you if the monkey is present)
- Red and Beige Monkey – The Overlook (12 AM – 12 PM)
After you’ve decided which monkey to feed, roam around the area and look for the monkey. Approach it and the monkey will start running – you’ll then engage in a game of “tag”.
You’ll have to follow the monkey until it wearies. Once tired, you can approach and offer a delectable five-star meal. Although a three-star meal will do. You can also feed it a Banana Split to unlock a Memory!
After you’re done feeding 2 monkeys, great success. You may then report back to Eve for the next objective.
Objective #2 Picnic Blanket & Trashcan Planter
Up next, you’ll then have to watch Eve float around and follow her towards the Ancient’s Landing, across a gate and onto the secret garden.
There will be some dialogue here and there, but let her be your tour guide, and you’ll soon get to the next objective – which is to locate some stuff for her from Swirling Sands.
You’ll have to use your Hourglass Staff to find some lost objects namely – a Picnic Blanket & Trashcan Planter.
You can find these items in the Swirling Sands around the Ancient’s Landing. They’re pretty much randomly placed, but here are some locations that you can check to see if you have the same layout.
You can also find them behind these waterfalls which I’ve shown in the image below. That’s where I found mine, at least.
Also, if you’re having difficulty finding them, you might want to consider upgrading your Hourglass Staff, which may increase your chances.
Objective #3 Gather 5 Flowers
So, you’ve reported back to Eve, and she’s given you yet another objective which is to fetch her 4 different flowers, as well as Jade.
This one isn’t hard either since you can find everything lying around certain areas. But you may have to spend time running around to complete them. Here are the locations:
- Orange Birds of Paradise – The Docks & The Courtyard
- Yellow Birds of Paradise – The Docks & The Courtyard
- White Birds of Paradise – The Docks & The Courtyard
- Red Luminescent Flowers – The Overlook & The Ruins
- Jade – The Courtyard & The Overlook
Nice work! After that, you’ll have to give all the stuff you’ve collected to Eve, and there will be a dialogue between the two of them.
Then, follow them back to the secret garden where Eve has brought you before, and there’s a sweet surprise waiting for you!
Simply capture 3 pictures using “Photo” with Eve & Wall-E and the quest will be completed.
There will be a similar quest to this one in Disney Dreamlight Valley. But instead of monkeys, you’ll be feeding different animals – like the Capybaras and the Cobras.
