Dragon's Dogma 2 How to Decrease Affinity

Fans of the original Dragon’s Dogma finally got the sequel to the game called Dragon’s Dogma 2. Capcom just recently released it on Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X & Series S. The game retains its Action RPG elements with free roaming capabilities. Players can explore the beautiful vast world offered by the game however they like. The game also has an Affinity System and you can learn more about Decreasing Affinity with an NPC by reading this short guide.

How to Decrease Affinity

The Affinities in the game basically represents the relationships you have with various NPCs. In Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can romance any NPC you like by increasing your Affinity with them. When your Affinity with an NPC is high, their cheeks will turn red and your normal carry will turn into a bridal carry.

But what if you want to decrease Affinity with an NPC because you got Max Affinity with them by mistake (such as completing an escort mission of a certain Elf)? There are a couple of ways to do that which are discussed below. If a method does not work for you for some reason, then just try a different one.

Method 1: Jump Off A Cliff With Them

One of the most efficient ways to decrease Affinity with an NPC is by carrying them and falling off an edge of a cliff while they are still in your hands. You can not just push them off a cliff as they will just respawn again. So, you have to jump with them.

Method 2: Throw Items At Them

If you do not like jumping off a cliff with them, then you can use this method instead. You need to throw heavy stuff at them such as rocks, boxes or barrels. After getting hit with a few heavy objects, they will stop blushing (that will teach them to fall in love with you).

Method 3: Random Barbaric Acts

If all else fails, it is time to bring out your inner demon. You can decrease Affinity with an NPC by doing various violent acts such as:

  • Drawing your weapon when near them.
  • Killing a villager in front of them.
  • Attacking people.
  • Picking people up.
  • Sprinting into people and knocking them.

And that’s it! Now you have the knowledge to decrease Affinity with an NPC you do not like. If you liked this guide, then check this out next: Best Way To Get Dragon Crystals.
