Grounded 1.4: Best Tier 3 Weapon Tier List

The 1.4 update of Grounded has brought new weapons, as well as adjustments (buffs and nerfs) to the older weapons of the game. As you may already know, weapons are one of the most important aspects of the game, which pretty much defines your build and how strong your character will be. That’s why in this tier list, I’m ranking all the Tier 3 weapons in the game from best to worst in order to help you decide which ones to use!

Best Tier 3 Weapon Tier List

There’s a total of 29 of Tier 3 weapons for this tier list. Of course, every single weapon has different properties, damage, crafting requirements or materials, speed and more. That’s why it’s obvious that some weapons will be just better than others.

Keep in mind that I’ve ranked them based on personal preference and I may have overlooked some parts, so feel free to let me know in the comments below if you think there should be adjustments or changes.

Grounded 1.4 Tier 3 Weapons Tier List ranked from best to worst.

S Tier

  • Club of the Mother Demon – It’s easily one of the best weapons in the game. Only downside is that you’ll need to defeat The Brood Mother first before you’re able to get its materials. But once that’s over, you’re in for a treat.
    • I highly recommend crafting this weapon, and it works excellent with any Elemental path (Mighty path is not that good). Moreover, I personally like it down the salty path for taking on Antlions or Black Ox Beetles.
  • Mint Mace – It’s also one of the best weapons in the game. It works amazingly down the Mighty path to unlock the special ability where you do a third hit of a combo and do bonus damage. It’s insanely good and also applies a bit of a stun. Easily the best Minty weapon in the game!
    • You can get its recipe from the Picnic BURG.L Chip on top of the Picnic Table in the Minotaur Maze’s End.
  • Acid Edge (formerly known as Sour Battle Axe) It’s easily the best Sour weapon in the game. Only downside is that you’ll need to defeat Director Schmector first before you’re able to craft it. Still, it makes up for it, since it pretty much clears out everything and destroys everything. I recommend that you use this amazing weapon once you get it.

A Tier

  • Pinch Whacker – It’s safe to say that it’s a really solid weapon, and you can get it without any crafting. All you need to do is get a bomb and open the lab using the bomb. It’s also one of the best early game weapons in the game, at least until you get to the Upper Yard.
    • Moreover, it’s also really good once you do get a New Game+, as it gets a kind of revitalization when you get the Mad Scientist Trinket. I highly recommend it!
  • Rusty Spear – It’s a solid weapon, which is much better thrown than used melee. When you throw it, it comes to its element, and it becomes much more powerful.
    • It works amazingly with things like Termites in the Termite Hill. I personally recommend going down the Sour path for this weapon. It also works amazingly underwater one-tapping every single unit down there.
  • Salt Morning Star – It works amazingly on taking down the Wasp Queen and the Mantis, especially when you have New Game+. Overall, it’s a really good Salty weapon and its special ability from the three-hit combo is very good, which applies a bleed effect.
    • You can unlock it by unlocking the treasure chest inside of the Sandbox. What stops it from making S tier is that “Salty Club of the Mother Demon” is overall much better.
  • Termite Axe – It’s overall a very good weapon; it’s powerful yet easy to get and versatile. I recommend doing the Spicy path, so you can easily kill the Spiders as well as cooking your meat easily. However, once you get into the higher New Game+ or just late game in general, it’ll start to drop off.
  • Toenail Scimitar – It’s very handy on taking down the Infected Broodmother, especially when have it down the Fresh path.
    • But outside of that, I’d say the Mint Mace is a much better Fresh weapon and Acid Edge is a much better Sour weapon. Meanwhile, Club of the Mother Demon works much better down the Salty and Spicy paths. It’s also painful to craft….
  • Spicy Staff – I’d definitely use this one when taking on the Wasp Queen bossfight to take down the drones and other summons. It’s very good for that, however, outside of that, you’re better off using the other weapons above the list.
  • Black Ox Crossbow – With the right build, it can work very well, especially on multiplayer where you have other players front lining for you. Also, with the right build, you can get lots of summons, buffs and effects for your teammates. It can also be used even when you’re not running a complete ranged build.

B Tier

  • Prod Smacker – It’s a pretty solid weapon, nothing too crazy. It’s built for charged builds, which is better for multiplayer modes than single players. However, it can still be pretty good especially if you get the New Game+ and you get that Mad Scientist effect. I personally wouldn’t use it though.
    • In order to get it, you’ll have to beat every Mixer and Super Mixed in order to craft it, which isn’t exactly an easy thing to do.
  • Scythe of Blossoms – It’s a two-handed Axe weapon that does slashing and chopping damage. However, its slashing damage gets removed once you put it down an elemental path. It doesn’t work with Chopper either (only with Assassin) which is kind of a bummer. You’ll also have to beat the Mantis in order to get it which isn’t exactly easy to do either.
    • It’s also only good on Crit builds and isn’t flexible unlike the weapons mentioned above.
  • Spicy Coaltana – You can find it in the Upper Yard, in the Charcoal Bag, where you’ll need to do Ladybird Larva defense, which is very annoying to do to be honest. Don’t get me wrong, it’s powerful weapon but I’d rather prefer a Spicy Club of the Mother Demon or a Spicy Termite Axe.
  • Widow Dagger – I only find it useful underwater, on the Pond biome. Personally, I only use it for Moss Gathering, but with a lot of crits, it can also work amazingly in combat. However, it’s also a pain in the butt to craft (you’ll need the Super Spider Venom).
  • Ant Queen Staff – It’s a decent weapon, deals decent damage and works fairly well in the Wasp Queen boss fight for taking out the summons. Personally, I would choose other weapons over it, but if you’re into ranged builds, you might like it.
  • Sour Staff – It’s similar to Ant Queen Staff, but I personally find it very handy when taking down Moths in the Upper Yard.
  • Blaster of the Moldy Matriarch – Not much explaining for this one, but it only works well if you have a full set armor of the Moldy Matriarch. However, I recommend that you use it to destroy all the rocks around the map, so you won’t have to craft and carry a bunch of bombs.
  • Bard’s Bow – It’s a weaker version of the “Black Ox Crossbow”, not much explaining here.
  • Sour Arrow – It’s good for taking down the JavaMatic, as well as beat Director Schmector. But I personally prefer the weapons above in general.
Best Weapons in Grounded 1.4.

C Tier

  • Antlion Greatsword – Now, this weapon deals a decent amount of damage but it’s very expensive to craft and costs a lot of Antlion Pincer. I’d rather craft myself the Termite Axe as my first Tier 3 weapon to be honest. Also, it’s a two-handed slashing weapon which is rare and is the only two-handed slashing weapon that is non-Elemental by default. That means it’s a nice thing to have if you need a slashing-fresh weapon.
  • Black Ox Hammer – It’s also a pain in the butt to craft. However, you do need to eventually craft it for the story, so you’re going to have it regardless. I personally don’t like using it since its speed got nerfed.
  • Tick Macuahuitl & Tiger Mosquito Rapier These two weapons work similarly and gives you lifesteal which is pretty good. However, they barely do any damage and is only recommended to low skilled players. If you’re trying to stay alive, then you’ll find these two useful. Once you learn how to parry, say goodbye to these two.
  • Splinter Arrow – It deals the most damage out of any base arrow, but I honestly prefer Feather Arrows due to the bleed effect. It also has too much dropoff, which I personally don’t like.
  • Super Gas Arrow – You can use these for the JavaMatic, as well as take down Mixers and Super Mixers. Personally, not my cup of tea though.
  • Bomb Arrow – It works similarly to Super Gas Arrow/s but it’s also expensive to craft.

D Tier

  • Fire Ant Club – It’s a worse version of the “Club of the Mother Demon” yet it’s much harder to craft. In fact, you wouldn’t even need to go to the Upper Yard to craft the “Club of the Mother Demon”.
  • Mint Staff – I absolutely hate this one; it has no range for a staff! Why not just use the Mint Mace (which does much more damage), then? Enough said.
  • Super Venom Arrow – Lastly, I place this at the bottom of the list because it’s extremely expensive to craft but it’s not venomous and doesn’t deal that much damage at all. To be fair, the Venom stuff in the game is not that strong in general, but yeah, I don’t like it.

And that’s my ranking for the best and worst Tier 3 weapons in the 1.4 Update of Grounded.
