When it comes to crafting materials for more crafting you usually see those in survival games. Some other genres like RPGs and even Extraction Shooters have crafting like that these days. You can never truly run away from crafting!
In Hades 2, there are incantations that you can use in the game to give you various effects. Most of them need resources and some areas are easy to find. Then there are some like Shadow that you can only get through crafting!
In this guide, we’ll show you how to get Shadow in the game for those incantations! We’ll go over how you can unlock the crafting recipe and where you can make it.
How To Get Shadow
There are a ton of different materials that you can find in Hades 2 to help you progress by unlocking more stuff. However, there are some things that you’ll need to craft to progress through the game. One of them is Shadows and this is how you can get them!

Here are the steps that we’ll be taking to get Shadows in the game:
- Unlock Recipe: Shadow Extraction.
- Go to the Cauldron and select the Alchemy Tab.
- Select Shadow Extraction and craft it!

Detailed Walkthrough
When unlocking incantations, you might notice that some of them need you to have Shadows. This isn’t a resource that you get through runs but is something you create. To do this you’ll first need to unlock the Recipe: Shadow Extraction.
Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to go to the Cauldron where the Incantations are and then select the Alchemy Tab. There, you’ll find Shadow Extraction.
The recipe needs you to have the following ingredients:
- 30 x Ash
- 30 x Psyche
- 3 x Fate Fabric
These materials can be bought early on in the hub area. So, if you want to get Shadows as fast as possible you’ll want to buy it from the shop!
