What makes Farming Simulator so enjoyable for me is the slew of additional mods I can install to improve the game. With Farming Simulator 25 out now, the process of installing mods hasn’t been changed all too much, but my guide will show you how to download, install, and use mods in Farming Simulator 25. Whether you’re playing on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC, this guide is applicable to all platforms.
How to Install Mods
Step 1: Access the Mod Hub
When you load into Farming Simulator 25, head to the “Downloadable Content” section. This opens up the Mod Hub where you can browse mods by category such as Maps, Gameplay Packages, Trucks, Medium Tractors, and more. Initially, you might not see many options as mods are continually released.
Step 2: Browsing & Selecting Mods
In the Mod Hub, you can filter mods by:
- Best: Highest-rated mods.
- Most Downloaded: Popular mods based on downloads.
- Latest: Recently released mods.
- Recommended: Curated mods, although this might be empty initially.
Additionally, using the menu on the left, you can view Installed mods, DLCs, mods that need updating, and key unlocks.
Step 3: Installing a Mod
To install a mod, select it from the list. For example, if you want to install the “Government Subsidy” mod:
- Left-click on the desired mod.
- View information: Read descriptions and view screenshots.
- Install: Click the “Install” button. The mod will be added to your download list.
Step 4: Managing Your Mods
After installation, mods will appear in the “Installed Mods” section. If a mod is still downloading, it may not show up immediately. You can monitor your downloads by checking the “Downloads” section.
Step 5: Using Your Mods
To use the mods:
- Start a new game or continue an existing one.
- After setting up your game, a screen will show which mods are available. Highlighted mods in green are active.
- Activate or deactivate mods: Use the select/deselect options or double-click to change their status.
Step 6: In-Game Mod Access
Once in-game, you can access your installed mods:
- Build Mode: For placeable mods like the Government Subsidy sign, go to the appropriate section (e.g., Generators).
- Store: Check the “Downloads” section to see all installed mods.
Final Tips
PC players can filter by “Show Crossplay Mods Only,” which displays mods compatible with all platforms. This option isn’t available on consoles since not all PC mods are available on consoles. You can also search for specific mods within categories. Additionally, as I said before players can keep mods updated via the “Updates” section.
That’s it! With these steps, you’ll be able to download, install, and use mods seamlessly in Farming Simulator 25!
