Travel to distant moons and brave different worlds with your friends in the indie horror game Lethal Company. The dangers of the outdoors prey on the most vulnerable, and survival will rely on how well you and your crew work together. Stay alive, collect scrap, scan creatures, and explore nature; just remember that no matter what, never miss your quota.
Weather Conditions in Lethal Company
There’s an extensive list of moons to explore; all with their own unique environment and challenges. One factor that players will encounter early is the different weather conditions, which add a layer of difficulty to prevent players from visiting the same planets again and again.
In this guide, we provide you with a comprehensive breakdown that explains all the different weather conditions you might encounter on your run and tips on how to navigate them so that you can stay alive.
You can check for the weather conditions on each moon by reading the text in the brackets beside the moon’s name on the terminal command.
Foggy
Fog will drastically affect your visibility by a few meters. Unless you’re already familiar with the moon’s map, running, walking, and navigating will be difficult. This makes you vulnerable to danger and affects your odds of escaping from any attacking wildlife.
Having Operator on your team can help you navigate to and from the ship, use your scanning tool to mark the facility entrance and ship’s location to make things easier.
Just make sure not to get too confident because Forest Watchers can still see you in the fog. You can also use the Loud Horn to help you find your friends and find your way back to the ship.
Raining
If it’s raining on a moon expect to encounter mud and deadly quicksand spots on the map. You’ll know you’re near one if you’re slowed down and hear distinct mud-stepping sounds, and can avoid this by looking out for large dark circles on the map.
If you find yourself stuck in quicksand, make sure you have enough stamina to sprint and jump out of it. The longer you’re in the quicksand, the harder it will be to escape.
It will be harder to avoid quicksand if you leave at night especially if you don’t have a flashlight, so make sure you explore during the day so there’s more light to make it easier to navigate. Also, make sure you always have enough stamina to get yourself out of any sticky situations.
Flooding
Players will notice puddles of water on the ground the moment they land. There will be constant rain that threatens to raise the water level over time.
Avoid standing in water for extended periods because this will deplete your stamina and avoid staying submerged underwater for too long because this can drown you.
You will have fewer safe areas to walk and by 6 pm the water levels will be noticeably higher, so your chances of drowning are increased.
Avoid drowning by handling lighter loot and deprioritizing heavy loot. You can also use the Extension Ladder to get on the ship without jumping or using the hand ladder.
Stormy
There will be rain but unlike the other “wet” events, you won’t encounter flooding or quicksand. Here you have to listen to audio cues to avoid being struck by lightning. This will strike metal objects in your inventory so make sure to drop them immediately.
Holding on to a metal object and being struck will lead to instant death. Only pick up scrap when you are sure that static is gone, or it could cause the lightning to strike again. Keep note that the blast radius of lightning is relatively large so keep a safe distance.
Having any metal objects in the ship will lead to the ship being struck causing it to lose power and kill players inside it. Random lightning strikes will hit the map, so stay alert.
Eclipse
This is considered the worst weather event in Lethal Company. It’s recommended that players don’t explore a moon when during these conditions, but if you choose to, be prepared to face creatures like Eyeless Dogs and Forest Keepers.
Earth Leviathans also roam during an Eclipse and are known to travel in twos. Nocturnal creatures roam even during the day, so keep your eyes peeled and hope you don’t run into them.
