So, you’ll want to optimize everything to ensure that you have the strongest character possible. Your class plays an important role here, depending on the meta you are trying out. It can also vary depending on if you are a FTP (free to play) player, or like to pay money. To help deal with this confusion, we’ll be looking at the best class tier lists for both PvE and PvP. We’ll also cater for both F2P and P2W players so that you’ll know how to tackle things. With that said, let’s get into it!
Best PVE & PVP Classes Tier List
In this guide, we’ll be looking at four class tier lists in Odin Valhalla Rising: PvE F2P, PvE P2W, PvP F2P and PvP P2W. This is because the class’s effectiveness is different in each of these situations.
Our focus will be more on the sub classes as this will provide more insight than the overall class.
It’s important to remember that the rankings are based on our experience and opinions. For the most part, the class does not play too much of a role.

Best PvE Class Tier List (For Free To Play)
S Tier
- When it comes to AoE damage, the Archmage (Sorceress) is the best class in the game. However, she has no life steal or sustain skills, which can make farming difficult in tougher areas. Running a priest to heal her can make her the best class by far.
- The Sniper (Rogue) offers a lot of potential for free to play players. You get some excellent utility and also life steal, which will help you when you are grinding against mobs – especially solo.
- Dark Wizard (Sorceress) has great life steal and utility which helps it survive longer. As a free to play player, having these without spending money can be really useful, especially when you are grinding.
A Tier
- The Assassin (Rogue) is an excellent class for players who prefer melee characters. It is great for grinding but can be a bit slower since it only targets one enemy at a time.
- When you think of DPS, the first class that comes to mind is the Berserker (Warrior) class. Offering both excellent DPS and defense, it is a reliable class that works well for farming.
B Tier
- Both the Defender (Warrior) and Paladin (Priest) work well for farming in PvE, and are quite close to the Assassin and Berserker. However, they are not as effective early on in the game. so you’ll need to build them up a bit.
C Tier
- The Saint (Priest) only really offers healing and debuffs – at least earlier on in the game. This makes her the slowest class for PvE farming. To make this class work, it’s recommended you use it with a party until you unlock more skills to make PvE farming solo much more manageable.
Best PvE Class Tier List (Paying Players)
S Tier
- Spending money in the game will allow you to progress faster. The Dark Wizard (Sorceress) benefits the most from this as it has the best life steal skills in the game. In this way, you’ll be able to farm higher tier areas much earlier.
- The Sniper (Rogue) also benefits from paying players as you’ll be able to reach the level thresholds for skills faster. This will allow you to get the life steal skills which will sustain you during farming.
- Since the Archmage (Sorceress) does not have life steal skills, it will not benefit from playing players. But nonetheless, it still has the best AoE damage.
A Tier
- This tier is the same as the free to play tier, except the Paladin class is much more stronger. This is because if you build this class aggressively with attack buffs and formation by using money. It gives the Paladin good AoE at higher levels, enabling you to farm mobs better.
B Tier
- This tier remains unchanged from the free to play tier list for PvE, except for the Paladin class not being there.
C Tier
- As before, this tier remains unchanged from the free to play PvE tier list.
Best PvP Class Tier List (For Free To Play)
S Tier
- The Paladin and Saint are the best options as a F2P player since you can support strong teammates – especially paying ones. This will allow them to survive longer against touch players.
A Tier
- The Defender is a solid class that offers crowd control and high defense. It will enable your team to last longer against big spenders. You’ll be able to hold them off, allowing your teammates to do more damage.
B Tier
- Ranged classes like the Sniper, Archmage and Dark Wizard give you good results early on if you’re going the free to play route. As a result, you won’t have to do as much grinding.
C Tier
- The Assassin and Berserker class both lack in attack and defense early on the game. Without their key skills, they are not useful. The problem is that you’ll need to grind a lot for both their skills, which is a problem if you don’t pay money.
Best PvP Class Tier List (Paying Players)
S Tier
- If you’re willing to spend a lot and reach the endgame of the Assassin class, you will be able to kill players with just a few skills. You’ll also have access to a Passive that reduces all your cooldowns. This will enable you to get Invisibility really soon.
- As an endgame Berserker, if your HP falls below 50%, your attack speed and damage goes up. You also get better defense with your deflect skills. So, fighting this class becomes really tough as their power can spike all of a sudden.
A Tier
- The Dark Wizard class offers a lot of utility and crowd control abilities. You also have high damage output and strong lifesteal skills. This makes it a very solid option for spenders.
- You also get good amounts of utility, traps and dodges with the Sniper class. On top of that, it also has great survivability, with life steal skills and high damage. As a result, this is probably the most well rounded class.
- Archmage is also a great class option, although it does not have as much utility compared to the other classes here. It also lacks in the life steal skills department.
B Tier
- The Paladin and Defender are great options as tanks for spenders. If you build them right, they will be able to last for a long time and almost never die.
- Having a Saint is also a decent option, but you do not benefit much if you are a big spender. Dealing damage quickly with other classes will almost always trump this class.
