When playing MOBA games, you first need to master the map. Understanding what is around every nook and cranny of a map will help you become a much more efficient player, as you will need to traverse the map in order to go certain objectives or get buffs and such. In Predecessor, it is no different than a game of League of Legends. Mastering the map should be your number one priority when you start a MOBA game. In this guide, we will help you do so with Predecessor.

Map Guide – Predecessor

Looking at the map, you will see different icons and such. The first thing you need to understand is that blue will be your team, and yellow will be the enemy team. Keep that in mind when you play through a match, because people often make the mistake due to the enemy team not being red like in most games.

Now there will be other icons on the map as well, all with different colors. “What do they do?” you may ask. Well, we will list down what each of these colored buff means:

  • Red Buff – Red dots on your map all give damage increase, including a Slow attunement to your Basic Attacks.
  • Blue Buff – Gives mana regen, as well as ability haste and extra ability damage to mobs.
  • Gold Buff – Gives more gold.
  • Cyan Buff – Grants XP, some gold, and mana and health.
  • Fangtooth – This a buff that can stack. It is located on the left side of the map, right in front of the Gold Buff.
    • Stack 1: Increased buff duration.
    • Stack 2: Out of combat movement speed.
    • Stack 3: +6 increased stats.
    • Stack 4: 12% increased stats.
    • Stack 5: 18% increased stats.
    • Stack 6: 24% increased stats.
  • Mini Prime – Increases damage for you and your minion allies.
  • Orb Prime – Increases damage, plus out of combat healing and mana.
  • River Buffs – The river can actually give different buffs, all with different results.
    • Pink – Ability damage.
    • Green – Shield.
    • Orange – Attack speed.
    • Grey – Movement speed.

Now that you know what these buffs are, you will need to use all of these efficiently in order to break through the lane and get to the enemy Towers and Inhibitors, which can be found at the top of the map. See those three diamond shaped icons on the map? Those are the Towers, which you need to destroy in order to reach the big one in the end.

Elijah Hernandez is someone that loves video games since he was little. It didn't matter to him if people didn't like a video game. If it was fun, that was all that mattered to him. He's also a huge fan of superhero media like Marvel and DC, so he's practically played games like Spider-Man and the Batman Arkham games. He's also into multiplayer games that strike his fancy, specifically games like Call of Duty and Fortnite. Most especially Fortnite since he can play as different Marvel and DC characters in a battle royale against other famous and iconic characters.
