In Risk of Rain Returns, you can unlock various artifacts that act as mutators for your runs. Among these is the returning Artifact of Glass, which drastically increases your damage with the downside being that you start off with an incredibly low amount of HP. This essentially makes you a glass cannon. Having said that, how exactly can you unlock it?

How to Unlock the Artifact of Glass

Finding this artifact will require a bit of luck, as you must have the Ancient Valley as your third level to begin your search.

Once you make it to the Ancient Valley, you have to go to the bottom left corner of the level to check whether the artifact shrine is in the map.

If it’s there, you can now make your way slightly up the side of the mountain where it’s hidden. Eventually, you will stumble into what appears to be a secret entrance embedded into the cliff.

Upon entering this zone, you will need to shoot five buttons within an unspecified time limit, so you’ll have to rush through it a bit.

The first four buttons will be immediately accessible in the first part of the zone, highlighted in the image below.

RORR Buttons #1-4

For the fifth and last button, you will need to jump down and platform across a series of chains. This step is the tricky part of this process, as you can easily fall down and have to climb all the way up again.

RORR Button #5

Once you have successfully hit all of the buttons, you should hear a sound prompt confirming that you have indeed done it.

All you have to do once you hear the prompt is descend to the very bottom and touch the artifact on the shrine.

And that’s pretty much it, you have now unlocked the Artifact of Glass. There are more like it scattered throughout the other maps, and you should go and collect them as they can drastically change your runs!
