Starfield allows the players to be fully immersed in the world that Bethesda has created and let them be whatever they want to be. You want to be a hero to the universe? You can do that. Do you want to be a murderous pirate that plunders other ships? That is possible. Or do you want to be a cunning thief that jumps from planet to planet, pickpocketing those who are unaware? Even better.

But how can you pickpocket people in the game? In this guide, I will show you how you can pickpocket people in Starfield.

How to Pickpocket Guide

Now before we start, you will need to unlock the Theft skill in your Skill menu. When starting the game, you will not be able to pickpocket people unless this is the first skill you unlock, so you better use some of those unused skill points and unlock Theft before doing anything.

Now that you have the Theft skill unlocked, all you really need to do now is just look for an NPC you want to pickpocket. Almost all of the NPC’s in the game can be pickpocketed.

When you find an NPC you want to pickpocket, simply press the crouch button and you will get the prompt to pickpocket. Once you do, press it and a smaller window will open that shows all of the things you can steal from the NPC. Grab what you want and then leave.

Now, if you go to pickpocket someone else and see the “Detected” text above the window, that means you will be caught if you try to steal something.

Stealing while the Detected text is visible will add a bounty to your head, and the nearest security or law enforcement will rush to arrest you. So, remember to be sneaky and patient.

Elijah Hernandez is someone that loves video games since he was little. It didn't matter to him if people didn't like a video game. If it was fun, that was all that mattered to him. He's also a huge fan of superhero media like Marvel and DC, so he's practically played games like Spider-Man and the Batman Arkham games. He's also into multiplayer games that strike his fancy, specifically games like Call of Duty and Fortnite. Most especially Fortnite since he can play as different Marvel and DC characters in a battle royale against other famous and iconic characters.
