Starfield has been arguably the most anticipated game awaiting its release for the past two years. The game represents the first project that Bethesda undertook after being acquired by Microsoft. Hence, people have high expectations for this new universe.

Currently, the game has many bugs that players are finding inconvenient as they affect the gameplay experience. One of these bugs involves Landing Area Markers that do not seem to disappear. This guide will focus on some methods that can help resolve this issue until an official patch is released.

How to Remove Landing Area Markers

This guide will be divided into different sections, with each one focusing on the particular method that you can try. Make sure to try every single one, and find out what works for you!

Land Multiple Times

The first method that you can try is essentially a hit-and-trial method. For this, you will need to land your ship far away from the outpost.

You might have to try this multiple times for the previous Landing Markers to vanish. It is very important to land the ship far away from the outpost since, otherwise, this won’t work.

The way that this method works is by creating new Landing Area Markers that can potentially overwrite the previous ones. However, it is important to note that this method does not have a 100% success rate, as some players have reported that it does not work for them.

Landing Pad Type

Some players believe that the type of Landing Pad that you use for your outpost has an effect on the Landing Markers. It might be worth it to switch to a larger Landing Pad, in case you are using a smaller one.

Delete Your Base

If you are bold and daring, then you can try deleting your Outpost completely from the affected planet. Once this is done, you will need to spend a few in-game days away from the planet until the Landing Markers disappear.

When all the markers have vanished, rebuild your outpost in the exact same spot to get new Landing Markers. Once again, this method is not perfect, as a few players have reported that it doesn’t seem to work for them.

Beacon Workaround

Another method that players have suggested involves the use of Beacons. There are a couple of steps that you need to follow for this to work. First, you have to land on the Landing Area where you want to remove the marker.

Once this is done, you will need to place a Beacon as close as possible to your ship. After building and placing down the Beacon, you will need to exit Build Mode and interact with it.

When you interact with it, you will need to delete it by holding down the R key. After deleting, immediately travel to another Landing Site or into Orbit without doing anything else.

When you look in the map for the Landing Site Marker, you should see that it has disappeared. This method has so far been tested only on PCs, so console users should proceed with caution.

Wait for Developers

The last method involves simply waiting for Bethesda to address this issue in the upcoming patches for the game. However, this method will take some time, depending on the priorities that the studio assigns to these bugs.

We hope that you found this guide helpful for removing the Landing Area Markers in Starfield. Let us know in the comments below if you have any questions or suggestions for future content.
