There are many modules that allow you to personalize how your favorite descendant in The First Descendant plays. There is a small subset of modules that are specifically designed to change how the grappling hook functions, and among them is the Long-Distance Maneuvering ultimate rarity module. In this guide, we will be showing you how to get it!
How to Get Long Distance Maneuvering Module
There are actually multiple ways to get the Long distance Maneuvering module, and we will briefly go through some of them so you can decide for yourself as to which method looks more appealing.
Kingston Farm
First up, there is one mission that drops it in the Kingston region, which is pretty much the starter zone. To be more specific, you will have to repeatedly finish the Slumber Valley mission for a chance to get it.
Be warned, it normally has a 1% chance to drop from this mission, so many attempts might have to be made to get it. If you can handle the hard world difficulty setting, you can bump the rate up to 5%, though this is more for late game players.
As an added bonus to doing it on hard mode, you will also have a 2.5% chance to get the Glacial Cloud module. This is a transcendent mod that may also be of value to you if you are trying to combine them for a chance at getting a specific one.
Fortress Farm
In the upper right corner of the world map is the Fortress region, which is one of the last zones you can unlock in the game at the moment. Here, you will have to do the Munitions Loading Dock mission repeatedly until the mod drops.
Unlike the previous option, normal mode will give you a 4.5% chance to get the Long Distance Maneuvering module. The kicker is that this is a higher level zone, so completing runs here might be a little slower compared to Kingston depending on your build and overall skill.
If you are at this point of the game, you may as well set the world difficulty to hard. This will only bump it up to 5% (a small 0.5% boost), but the mission itself should not take any longer than normal if you have a decent setup.
Unlike the Kingston farm, however, you don’t have a chance to get a transcendent mod here. If you are grinding in hard mode, you may as well go for the first one for the small chance at the glacial cloud drop.
What Does It Do?
The Long Distance Maneuvering module will, as the name implies, increase the range of your grappling hook. However, this will also bump the recharge time up, making it slightly less spammable once you run out of charges.
It is great for scaling long distances, as expected, but the more popular option is mid air maneuvering, which allows you to use the grappling hook even without any surfaces to fire it at. It basically functions like the wirebug in Monster Hunte: Rise, if you have ever played that.
With all of that said, you basically just need to grind for the mod at missions that drop it, and you can check the acquisition info at the modules list in the game if you want more alternatives.
