The First Descendant: How to Get the Multi Maneuvering Module

Chain your grapples with this handy ultimate rarity mod, here’s how!

There are a lot of mods that you can equip on your descendants to boost their effectiveness in The First Descendant, and a few options allow you to personalize certain aspects of your gameplay, such as movement. The Multi Maneuvering module is an example of this, as it modifies how your grappling hook works. Here is a quick guide on how you can get it and what it does!

How to Get the Multi Maneuvering Module

Before we begin, there are actually a lot of ways to get this mod throughout the different regions of the game. You can see a more detailed list within the game itself.

If you want to check thepossibilities yourself, simply open your journal or map and select the Access Info menu up top. From here, click on the large Module category to get a list of all the mods in the game.

Sort it by Ultimate rarity and or type in the name of the mod at the search bar on the upper right corner to filter the list. If you hover over the Multi Maneuvering mod, you can then press F to open up the Acquisition Info for it.

This will show you all of the possibly ways to get the mod, whether it be through missions or killing monsters. If you click on any of the options here, you will be switched over to the map, where the game will highlight the exact mission or place you need to go to.

NOTE: This method essentially allows you to look up how you can get all of the mods in the game, barring stuff like combining them, as that is more of a gambling mechanic.

One of the earlier ways you can try to grind for the Multi Maneuvering mod is, as seen in the image above, doing certain missions within the Vespers region. This is really early in the game, so you can start farming it as early as around level 20.

In normal difficulty, the odds of getting it upon completing a mission are at around 2%. If you have finished all of the missions in this region, you can activate hard mode and bump this up to 5%.

Destroyed Temple is the recommended mission in this area for either difficulty setting, as it is incredibly fast and easy. If you are going to try and bang your head against the wall until it drops, you may as well do it here.

This is also because it’s the only one that offers it as a part of the mission completion loot rolls. For most of the other missions, the list states that you might get it from a mission monster at an unknown rate.

Alternatively, there is also a mission in the Fortress region that has a chance of giving you the mod upon completion. This is a higher level area, however, and you will have to progress further into the campaign if you haven’t already done so by this point.

What Does This Mod Do?

The Multi Maneuvering mod is one of the three options for modifying your grappling hook. It will increase the max stacks that you can keep up to three, allowing you to zip around more as long as you let it charge up to full.

It will reduce your range to 18 meters, though, and it will increase the charge time by around 20% at the base level. This is purely subjective, but the shorter range can be very annoying, and the extra stack does not make up for it.

A lot of players consider the normal grappling hook to be vastly superior over this one in most use cases. There are definitely some niche uses where it can shine, but for the average player, having the extra range from the default hook will likely be more beneficial and feel better in general.
