It won’t take too long until you finally snap and wish to play with another character aside from the first three you start out with in The First Descendant. And when you look around the Research Institute or the game’s webpage you will see other characters that are clearly more desirable than the others, like Gley.
She has issues and likes to call herself a mom, but that’s what the market demands these days anyway. If you want to know more about how you can unlock this gun nut then stick around and read the guide below!

How to Unlock Gley
Every character you need to unlock can be accessed through Masgister Anais. You can find her by going to the southwest section of Albion. The materials for descendants mostly stay the same, it’ll always be four items including a code for the respective character you want to unlock.
Here’s what you can do in order to unlock Gley:
- Talk to Magister Anais and choose Research Request.
- Select the Descendant Tab.
- Choose the Descendant you want to unlock (Gley).
- Farm or buy the components/materails needed.
- Start the research after you gather all the necessary materials.

Detailed Walkthrough
Magister Anais is your go to NPC for most of the transactions you’re going to be doing while playing The First Descendant.
Find her in Albion and choose Research Request in order to begin. This will take you to the research institute where you’ll see a bunch of other options inducing the Descendant Tab.
Choose the Descendants tab and click on Gley’s portrait. You’ll be taken to another screen that shows her background along with the research materials you need to gather. Each research material will require even more components the moment you hover over one.
You can also check what you need to do on this screen in order to get a specific component. For example, hover over the research material and it will show you what activity you need to do to farm the component.
The components are also purchasable. Talk to Anais again and choose Research Request once more. This time go to the Descendant Material tab. Here’s what you’ll need to buy or farm for Gley:
- 1x Gley Enhanced Cells
- 1x Gley Stabilizer
- 1x Gley Spiral Catalyst
- 1x Gley Code
Once you have all of the materials talk to Magister Anais again to begin the research. It will take a few hours to finish creating a descendant so you can play around some more while waiting.
Another option will be to boost the research with the money you have in your pocket to get the descendant instantly.
