Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes mixes up your standard JRPG gameplay with a fairly simple but impactful base management system. Certain upgrades will require various resources, party members, and even specific items that can be found around the world. Excellent Lacquer is one such item, and in this guide, we’ll show you how to get it!
Where to Find Excellent Lacquer
Excellent Lacquer is relatively easy to find, however, you have to reach a certain part of the main questline before you can get it. The earliest possible time to get some is reportedly during the “To Norristar, the Western Nation” quest, which begins much later in the game.
If you are still pretty early and have only just unlocked the headquarters (which can have varying names), check out our guide on what to do after getting the castle first to progress further.
Once you have reached the necessary point in the story, you will gain access to more parts of the Dappled Forest. Basically, just head over to the corner highlighted in the map image below, and you will find some Excellent Lacquer from the branches there.
Resource nodes supposedly respawn after a while, so if you have to get some later on (you will eventually be needing more), just leave the area and come back in around 10 or so minutes.
SIDE NOTE: You can recruit a new party member in the Dappled Forest if you haven’t already gotten him. Check out our guide on how to recruit Fume in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes for more info!
What is Excellent Lacquer Used In & Other Sources?
Excellent Lacquer can be used to upgrade your base to level three. The nodes at the Dappled Forest should have the exact number needed for this upgrade, and this will open up other facilities that will need more of it.
Guild Missions can also be a decent source of Excellent Lacquer. Specifically, the one labeled “Seek out rare lumber!” can potentially get you some. Assigning characters such as Fume can be particularly helpful in boosting your chances.
Other useful party members for this will be people such as Marin, Lilwn, and Celia, who have the “Foraging Up” ability that will be very beneficial for this specific guild mission.
Eldroad also has some Excellent Lacquer nodes, but this will be much later on in the game, and you’ll likely be at a decently high level by the time you make it there.
And that’s pretty much everything you need to know when it comes to getting Excellent Lacquer, which is just one of many other valuable resources you’ll be needing in the game.
