In The Lord of the Rings: Return To Moria, you’ll eventually need to acquire Ironwood in order to progress further into the game and get access to rarer materials. While you’ll be able to get materials like Iron, relatively quickly, it doesn’t apply the same for Ironwood. It’s not easy to find. But don’t worry, here’s a guide that will show you two options you can do to farm this essential material.

Where to Get Ironwood

There are two methods that you can do to get Ironwood in the game. The first option is to use the Yarog-Iuthnul rune in the Crafting Table and inscribe it to any weapon.

You’ll be able to unlock the Crafting Table by playing through the main mission. Once you reach the second camp, there’s a broken Crafting Table that you can fix by using 10 Elven Wood, which unlocks it as well.

To inscribe the Yarog-Iuthnul rune, you’ll have to use 3 emeralds, which you can get from Adamant nodes.

The rune will give you a chance of getting Ironwood by cutting down tall trees in the Lower Deeps (and by trees, I mean the mushrooms and tall plants, as there’s no actual tree in the game).

You’ll have to go deeper, as small mushrooms won’t reward you with Ironwood.

So, what if you don’t have access to Adamant-farming pickaxe and emerald yet? The answer is the second method.

Chop down tree for Ironwood

For the second method, first make your way to the City of Dwarrowdelf. There, you’ll be able to get a couple Ironwood by destroying the furnitures and pre-built outposts.

That’s pretty much it! Beginner or not, there are some useful tips and tricks that you can use in this LOTR Return To Moria: Ultimate Beginners Guide.
