If you’re coming into For The King 2 fresh or feeling a bit rusty, I’m here to help you put together a strong starting party to tackle the first chapter with ease. I’ll be providing the best starting party classes for new players and beginners, as well as provide essential information on why I chose them for the list. Without further ado, let’s jump right into it!

Best Starting Party Classes For New Players

To sum things up, the best party classes for beginners consists of the following. I’ll be discussing them more in-detail in the guide.

  • 2 Blacksmiths
  • Herbalist
  • Scholar or Hunter

Blacksmith

First, we’re going to double up on Blacksmiths. While this may pose a challenge with the gear, it’s worth it. You can equip one with high evasion and the other with heavy armor to cover both physical defense aspects.

Having two Blacksmiths in the front line, positioned at opposite ends of the grid, minimizes area-of-effect damage. You can alternate taunts between them as needed, taking the heat off when one starts getting low on health.

Blacksmiths boast excellent Vitality, Strength, and even a chance to negate incoming damage, making them formidable tanks in the game.

Herbalist

Next up, we have the Herbalist. This character plays a crucial role in every party, especially for newcomers. Now, healing can be a struggle in the early game, and if you overcommit to challenging fights, you’ll need frequent healing.

The Herbalist’s “Party Heal” ability is a game-changer. When they use a Godsbeard (healing herb), it heals all nearby party members.

This effectively maximizes the use of your healing resources and saves you money in the long run. The Herbalist can also become a potent magic user later in the game, adding another layer to their versatility.

Scholar Or Hunter

We’ve already covered the second Blacksmith, so let’s move on to the Scholar. This character introduces magic damage into your party, balancing your roster between physical and magical attackers.

Scholars have “Refocus, which can grant extra focus points at the end of each turn, and “Find Scroll” for additional utility.

Now, the Scholar can be swapped out if you prefer another class. The Hunter is an option but remember that they are limited to equipment with “Awareness” stats, which restricts them from switching to magic.

That’s why I recommend the Scholar, as it brings valuable magic-based damage to the team.

That sums it up for this guide. If you’re interested, why not check out this guide on For The King 2 All Character Stats Explained & How To Find Them next?
