Nightingale: Complete Guns Guide | Ammo & Unlocking All 3 Types

Magic ain’t enough, catch this bullet.

Nightingale is a multiplayer, survival PVE game that lets you craft weapons and other gear to fight against the monsters that roam the different realms in the game. As a Realmwalker, you will be going around these realms pretty much all the time to look for resources or simply just explore.

While you do so, it is important to always be ready to fight against anything that is going to kill you and maul your dead body. So, what do you need? Weapons, yes, but you will also need something more powerful. Like guns. In this guide, I will show you how the guns work in the game.

Complete Guns Guide

Bear in mind that there are currently only three types of guns in the game: Pistols, Shotguns, and Rifles. There are also currently 3 Pistols, 2 Shotguns, and 3 Rifles in the game, which is a total of 8 guns you can find in the game to use.

How to Unlock Guns

Now there are a couple of ways to get guns in the game. That is by either buying the guns from the Essence Traders or crafting them. This is how you can get guns like the Lancaster Pistol or Chassepot Rifle.

Essence Traders are good for when you need to buy guns, but you will eventually need to learn how to craft the guns yourself. To do that, you will need to buy the proper augmentations for your crafting stations.

These augmentations are important, because they are what essentially advances the crafting stations to allow crafting of the guns. Here are the augmentations you will need and where you can get them:

  • Simple Saddle Rack
    • Grants pistol schematics
      • Found at the Forest Astrolabe Essence Trader
  • Crude Ammo Box
    • Grants rifle schematics and some elemental shotgun ammo
      • Found at the Swamp Provisioner Essence Trader
  • Crude Tea Set
    • Grants shotgun schematics
      • Found at the Desert Antiquarian Essence Trader

Bear in mind that you don’t need to buy these at the Essence Traders. They can also be unlocked by simply playing the game and completing encounters, in which you are rewarded with these augmentations as well.

How to Craft Guns & Ammo

Now that you have the schematics you need, you can now craft the guns at base. To do that, you will need to have your Brazier up and running and smelting Ingots to make the Mechanical parts. You can make Ingots by putting in Ore, so you will need to be able to gather a ton of Ore if you want to get Iron Ingots.

With the Ingots getting made, you will then need to place down your Refined Workbench, as the Simple Workbench will not allow you to craft guns. You can find out where to get the Refined Workbench, as well as other Refined crafting stations, from the Refined Vendor. Check out our guide to find out where you can get them.

Now to craft a gun like the Lancaster Pistol:

  • You will need an Action and a Barrel, which can be crafted at the Brazier.
  • For the Wrap, that will be crafted at the Tannery.
  • Then for the Stock, you will need to make it at the Refined Sawbench with Poles.
  • Once you have all parts, go back to the Refined Workbench and you can then craft the gun.

For ammo, you will first need to make Gunpowder. Gunpowder can be crafted from the Refined Masonry Bench by mixing Sulphur and Coal together.

Then for the actual ammunition, you will have to craft them at the Refined Workbench. Since the Lancaster Pistol uses .451 Revolver Cartridges, you will have to use your Gunpowder and whatever Ingots you have to craft the ammo there. Bear in mind that Rifle and Shotguns will require different ingredients to craft their ammo.

After that, you now have a fully functioning gun with ammo for it. The crafting process for the Shotgun and Rifles are a bit different, but only in terms for the amount of parts you need as well as the types of ammo. But overall, they are still the same.

If you want to take some pictures of the game, but can’t due to the HUD or UI just plaguing the screen, then you’re in luck. Check out this guide that will show you how you can take screenshots without the HUD or UI!
