The whole point in Nightingale is that you have to survive through all of these randomized realms as you find a way back to the titular city. Throughout your journey, you will be meeting all sorts of NPCs who will offer to help you achieve that goal. In this guide, we’ll show you how to complete “The Journey Home” quest!
The Journey Home Quest
At some point in the game, you will be tasked with entering a Desert Herbarium realm. We have a guide on how to unlock the Herbarium card that will come in handy for this step.
After you have finished unlocking and crafting an Herbarium card, it’s time to open up a new portal in your base. Don’t forget to bring some Climbing Picks with you, as you will need them once you get there.
Finding Nellie Bly
Upon entering your first Herbarium Desert realm, immediately open your map and search for Nellie Bly’s location, which will likely be beside an essence trader.
Her location is randomized and will vary for every player, so we can’t give you an exact pin on the map. With that said, it shouldn’t be too hard since her icon will be visible right off the bat.
There is a very high chance that she, along with other NPCs, will be on top of a cliff. This is why you have to bring climbing picks with you, as well as an umbrella for safety.

Once you make it to Nellie Bly, simply approach her and engage in dialogue. From there, just pick all of the options with a white icon to the left of it (any dialog option works when given multiple choices too).
